    I really, seriously doubt that the direct footage looks worse because the switch version has so much removed detail. It says "we turned these effects off before we sent this footage in seven months ago" to me more than "we had to remove all this detail just for the switch", especially since the modern footage in the direct looks the same as at SXSW, and the game overall looks so similar to Generations that there's no way it should not be able to run smoothly on hardware more powerful than what Generations was built for.


    It's not a drop dash, sonic just landed on a booster.

    I'm pretty sure Sonic did perform drop dash once during the playthrough towards the end of the video.

    Must admit it looks much better than I expected.
    Still disappointed they didn't improve on generations leveldesign/engineer accuracy -wise. Leveldesign feels very blocky and uninspired with tonnes of enemies thrown at you to hide that fact.
    We'll see I guess.

    So basically everyone is loving the idea of the stage rather than the level itself as a whole.

    Why is everyone loving quartz quadrant again?
    I get that it's theme is kinda original and interesting but the level itself was boring and dull with barely any gimmicks and a "straight line with some conveyor belts" level design.

    The release of Generations coincided when I was taking a break from the internet. Playing Generations was magical, as I knew nothing about the stages and so it was wonderful to be surprised by them. I am trying very hard not to find out too much about Mania, but sometimes it can't be helped.

    Oh the thrills of discovering that every other level is a city level :v:
