I think they said summer for the bluetooth ones? I'd definitely want the Saturn one, hopefully the analog sticks turn out good.

Last I looked on my Amazon preorder. the Bluetooth dongles for the consoles are dropping in August, but the actual pads aren't coming until freaking November!

Thanks for the info. We still can't pre-order them in the states. Hopefully they come out this year. I'm wanting to get rid of as many cords as I can (and I don't notice any katency).

  4. I got my Saturn pad in about a week ago, and while I like the feel of it, I can't get the buttons mapped properly in either DInput or XInput mode in either Sonic Mania or Sonic 3 AIR. I could probably use x360ce, but I wish the ABC buttons were mapped to XAB on the 360 controller by default.

Are these really the default button mappings for the 8 button controllers? Do games that require just two buttons use X and A by default? =\

New update from Amazon: Dongles and pads due November now, although I'm starting to wonder if it's the UK distributor making shit up, as Retrobit themselves haven't said a thing.

It's definitely retrobit. They are clearly incompetent as they said they would release this stuff like two years ago. People ask them for information on twitter all the time and they never say anything concrete.

I was looking into the Sega Saturn USB pad, and it appears that a lot of people are having issues with the d-pad. I can't really see much about this outside of Amazon reviews (since this is apparently an issue of just using it heavily, I'd imagine), but it seems like it's only the Saturn pads that have this issue. The Genesis controllers seem to have no such issues in the reviews I crawled through (although, reviews are a bit bad to get opinions from since people are more likely to leave bad reviews rather than good ones).

Has anyone here had this issue so far?

Edit: And as soon as I post this, I stumble across a reddit post with a response from the company. It appears that this was an issue exclusive to a small set of Saturn controllers from the first batch. The issues have since been fixed with the "Model 2" (which has Switch support).

Personally I haven't had any problems with it, but then I haven't really been thrashing it with fighting games that much.

Only real "issue" with it is that it was a pain in the arse to bind buttons on RetroArch for me personally.

Welp, after multiple delays my Amazon order for the controllers with the analog sticks and triggers have been outright cancelled. I've tweeted Retro Bit for some insight.

Same here. The Bluetooth Dongle order is still currently open, but what's the point of keeping that going if the controller I was intending to use with it has become vapourware?

Well, I guess I'll have to find another controller to use for the Mega Drive Mini I don't own... Or just the Personal Computer I'm using now to play Minecraft with... And yes, I wanted to play Minecraft with a Genesis controller. Don't hurt or @ me.

I asked them about the analog controllers about a month ago, and got this as a response
I wouldn't be surprised if they're just cancelled now, there's been pretty much no news whatsoever about them. Which is disappointing, some games basically require analog sticks, and I'd prefer to just have one controller, rather than hotswapping them per game.

By this rate the Dreamcast controllers will come out in 2050.

I hate LGR. My bet is most of these will be scalped on ebay, where they will either rot or give more money into the pockets of 2nd hand buyers than the fundraiser will gain in its initial sale... Goddamn shame. Regardless, the money will be going to a good cause.

    EDIT:
I would rather donate the measly 10%, to be honest. Holey moley...

Was all primed and ready to buy one, and then shipping doubled the price. I'd like one, but not that badly.

But his videos are great! Thrifts, oddware, tech tales - just today he put out a video about Doom II and we all love Doom II!

The first comment I saw about these controllers is that someone was disappointed that they don't look like breasts. And it does make you wonder - if the B button was a nipple (or hey, let's get inventive and bring back those dual analogue sticks), would they sell more? It's for charity and is raising awareness, and it also appeals to the demographic of nerds who haven't touched girls before.

Because my gut feeling is they'd fare better than some pink transparent plastic. They conjure up memories of the many cheapo aftermarket pads that have been doing their rounds for years.

The wireless pads, both Genesis and Saturn, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, are out now.

No Bluetooth receivers for the original consoles yet, but the 2.4GHz models come with both original port and USB receivers.
