    Welp, this.
Sonic Retro will be down starting at 12 pm Eastern/9 am Pacific/5 pm Greenwich on Tuesday, October 11 for maintenance and repair. We expect this downtime to last through most of Tuesday. BadnikNET services will be available through the duration of this service.

I'd like to encourage anyone who uses SVN to make sure you have made a complete pull as much as you can by Tuesday. The SVN system is pretty broken to say the least and we might just need to start it from scratch on Git or something.

No guarantees that it will work on Tuesday, not gonna lie.

To confirm: if I export from TortoiseSVN while disconnected from the Internet, it'll just copy what I have on the local system? If so I'll do that, then pull.

by that, I mean, make sure you have whats on there checked out to your system in case it needs to get re-uploaded.

I think that would work though

  5. I just checked out the entire HEAD of the repository, and copied it to a CD-R, so there's at least one complete copy of the current revision, if it's ever needed.

EDIT: Updated my dump/backup of the SVN within an hour of SeanieB's post.

Just FYI, I have some work in progress that I'll probably finish and commit tomorrow.

    Edit: And now I'm done.

Assuming 9AM is still 9AM Pacific (which means 30 min from now), I can't seem to get anything: TortoiseSVN complains that it "couldn't read status line" from the server.

    EDIT it works now

  9. Well...see ya on the other side.

Not exactly when MathUser posted, but I -think- we're okay now.

I have been scrambling to find a good configuration that works for this site, and I think I found one. I need people to do me a huge favor and start testing features. Especially on the wikis. File uploads, article changes, changing avatars on the forum, etc.

E: I think the forum is okay. Let me know on IRC or on this thread if anyone hits any 500 errors.

E2: Alright, I had andlabs check it and I fixed the thumbnails on the wikis. Looks like everything else is fine.

Leaving this note for ScarredSun/Xkeeper/whoever is brave enough..

The update to PHP 5.3 has kinda frazzled some of the wiki extensions and the wiki. Might need to update them to function on the new PHP. There are no packages for the old PHP, so it's probably best to just fix the wiki.

If it's really that bad I can try to compile old PHP, but it should be fixable if you just replace the old plugins or update the version of the wiki software.

E1:I fixed the htaccess error at scarredsun's vhost and for whatever reason it fixed the quote button.

E2: I just fixed a ton of 500 errors relating to the execution timeout and maximum request length.

File uploads should now complete normally.

And uploads are A-OK on the wiki. Just need to do the software upgrades. I don't know if I should try to do them myself or not. Maybe I'll take a backup and give it a shot.

    Welp, this.
Actual software upgrades are decidedly more dicey, as it's not clear as to whether or not our extensions would all work. That's the very reason we've been sitting back. However, the main thing that was keeping us from going forward MAY have been fixed (it seems a bit ambiguous) and that may address the issue of why DPL isn't working even after I upgraded it.

Okay. If you're gonna take care of it, I'll leave you to it. I was thinking if I didnt hear anything by later tonight that I'd try just backing it up to that external drive (let me know if you want me to mount it) and try to do it myself, but clearly you would know more about it than I would.
