I reached 99999 spending pts the other day, and 99 lives... with nothing to spend them on. I guess I 100%'d the game. Oh well fun stuff
I made a shitty video with three monitors for the end of Rooftop Run Modern. FRAPS won't detect my audio so no sound, and its only short otherwise the file size would be astronomical, something I can't upload. I'l try and get some camera footage up shortly, but theres already a few videos on there that show off three monitor gameplay better than mine :P
Was there ever any word on a PC patch? I find it less than way-past-cool that the leaderboards are broken, the Rouge kissing mission crashes the game, and non-360 controllers are dysfunctional with L and R buttons.
That happens if you don't use a 360 controller. Happens with a lot of PC ports. Just download x360ce and call it a day.
I made a new video showing Generations playing with Nvidia Surround -
I don't understand the appeal of three monitor setups for anything other than flight/mech sims. Looks cool and all but I feel like I'm looking through a window. That'd annoy the hell out of me!
This is the practical yet cool way to play. It gives off the feeling of being Robotnik monitoring Sonic's progress through his deathly speed traps.
Yea that's just it. I guess the feeling of watching a game through a set of windows appeals to more people than it doesn't.
Finished the game last week. I read the posts here, I beat the final boss... and I still don't understand how it works.
The Time Eater boss is the only stage in Generations I've only played once... and won't be playing again. What a load of tedious fucking shite!
Time Eater strategy? Stay in 3D 99% of the time and toss Classic constantly so he breaks stuff in your path while you boost. Stay in the center as much you can while dodging Homing Shots and teleporting hands and you'll get closer to Time Eater faster. He's probably going to attack with his hands once you reach him, so dodge those, and then boost into the center until the boss breaks away. Stop boosting here, and line yourself up, there's a bunch of rings right after the time warp. Just stay in 3D and collect rings, and hit him when he comes back, avoiding his Homing Shots and tossing Classic around for good measure. Later on Time Eater busts out a laser, so hop into 2D for like 3 seconds, and then head back again. After enough hits he'll start a massive energy attack which you'll counter by holding both shoulder buttons into the Sonic 4 music starts playing. Geez, I kept misspelling Time Eater as Time Easter.
Oh, I so want to get this game already for my 360, but I don't have any money for it. Thankfully, I have a friend that has the PS3 version, he allowed me to play my favourite zone - Chemical Plant Zone. I was stunned with how beautiful the zone looked, one could say that I nearly cried with it. Don't judge me, Chemical Plant is my favourite zone Classic Sonic took me a while to get used to, same with Modern. They both have great gameplay, but I found Modern Sonic to be more... Fun to play as. Not saying that Classic is horrible or anything, they are both great, but I felt I had more fun with Modern Sonic's fast-paced gameplay. At the end I really can't wait to buy this game, if only games were cheaper here, 80 bucks for a 360 videogame? It's bloody insane.
Heh, it's okay. I have a USA Xbox 360, every copy of Sonic Generations I can find is 70+ bucks, even used.
