(Repost from SSRG, cause I somehow forgot to make a thread here.)

I've recently asked my (humble amount of) subscribers what they would like to see. An overwhelmingly large amount of them (again, in respect to its humbleness) have voted for more "talk about your hacks" videos. So, I've decided to dig through my list of old hacks again, sort them all in a neat order, and give my opinion about it these days.

Prepare for the least humble series you've ever witnessed!

We're starting off with my first ever hack (that I still have the ROM of):
    Sonic 1 - Hardcore Terror (2008)

(As you can see, I wasn't humble with my titles back in the day either...)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're also looking in a more mature way (what a joke) at a hack I've shown off before:
Sonic 2: Team Black Force (2008)

I would like to hear more comments. Words is what drives me to do more of these, no matter if short or long. :V

You know, I would scream in your face to read the damn YouTube descriptions, but I guess I didn't make a huge effort to point out the download links are in there. :V

Do one for Sonic Erazor! It's your best hack and deserves a video. I'd be interested in watching a video like that at least.

I will go through my entire chronology, so ERaZor is definitely on the list at some point. Even got some obscure versions that haven't been released under the official "public" title. :v:

Sounds good! I'd like to see a video with commentary on Sonic Erazor. I'm sure others would be interested too!

Was mine not good enough? *cries*

I made a comment; then you threatened to punch me =P But no, seriously, even a video a week is good. I'm looking forward to the next.

Today we're looking at one of the most infamous hack ever created:
    Sonic 1: Projekt 255 (August 8th, 2008)

(Fun fact: This won the Rick Roll Trophy in the Sonic Hacking Contest 2010!)

As always, I would like to hear more comments. Words is what drives me to do more of these, no matter if short or long. :V

Total silence for a week. Meh.

Today we're looking at the oldest version of Sonic ERaZor that I still have a ROM of:
    Sonic ERaZor (April 10th, 2009)

I look forward to watching these every Friday. :v: Your early hacks remind me of my very first Sonic 2 16-bit hack, it was just a palette and layout hack but the palettes were pretty damn bad... xD But I suppose we all start somewhere... I don't have access to that hack anymore, I don't even think I've ever released it but only had screenshots. (Which I have them downloaded onto my computer and I even uploaded them to Facebook months ago, I mocked them too since they were pretty bad.) I think the oldest hack I've made that I released was my Sonic 1 hack called Sonic Time Attack, and even then it wasn't too impressive. (But it was still a bit better than my Sonic 2 hack.)

It's not the oldest known build. Thanks to my beta collecting thing, I have 2 older builds, get in touch if you want them. :P

    Sonic 1 ERaZ0r [Built on 9th April 2009] [Beta]
    Sonic 1 ERaZ0r [Built on 29th March 2009] [Beta]

EDIT: Also the friend you got the layout for Sunny Hill Act 2 was "cloudiar", I remember!

While not the things that SonicVaan has shown me, we're not going far away.

Today we're looking at the first version of Sonic ERaZor that had some form of contact to the outside world (iirc, Ayla was the first ever person to see it outside of my then friend circle):
Sonic ERaZor (SHC 2009 Build) (September 8th, 2009)

    Earlier again cause I'm abroad.

Once again total silence for a week. Oh well.

Today we're NOT looking at the first release of Sonic ERaZor, but a small test hack that is almost completely unfinished, but contains a lot of inspiration for what would later become ERaZor's opening cutscene:
    Sonic 1: Tiny Challenges (December 5th, 2009)

For the record, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a complete challenge hack from you in the future.

Really? While certainly possible, to me it feels like a play-once-and-forget concept, since it's all just random challenges without a coherent connection between them. "Beat a stage with some strange Buzz Bomber", "Beat the same stage with some slightly different Buzz Bomber", etc. Sounds like wasted effort to me, if I should be honest.

Unless you got an idea how to make this work.

Well I can't speak for the longevity of it, but I meant in a general sense of approaching the same old stages in a different way, akin to S3K The Challenges. Sure it wasn't in the spotlight for the longest time, but it's certainly fun from time to time. I can definitely understand how it could feel like a wasted effort though, making changes and adding little variations for something the average player might only play once or twice.

Today we're looking at what I believe is the only hack in this list that is somewhat known (for all the wrong reasons):
    Sonic 1: I AM AN UNFUNNY SHITSTAIN 2.0 (March 13th, 2010)

Too late (again) because I'm at Wacken.
