Oh yes, it's quite sarcastic indeed. Seriously though, episode 2 came out in 2007.

Unbeknownst to use, muteKi actually works at Valve and is using a stack of boxed copies of Half-Life 3 as a seat. :ssh:

I knew Sonic 4 was going to have problems the moment I heard it would be Episodic. Unless it's some kind of RPG (Or Half Life) why make a Sonic game Episodic? Just what the hell was Iizuka on at the time?

Anyway my question is that if all that was wrong in Ep 1 was fixed in Ep 2 just what will happen to Ep 1's physics? Will they be fixed to match the next episode? I may not have played Sonic 4 myself yet (looks pretty fun but too easy) but I think that may just be the most puzzling question of all. Sonic 4 really should have either been developed as a whole game and made downloadable or made into a portable title for the DS/3DS or PSP/PS Vita.

I guess now we can only hope for the best of this project.

I think the answer lies in the Sonic CD tie in and Generations. The Time Traveling is significant in both Sonic CD and Generations, so maybe it will play a crucial part in Sonic 4 E2? This would allow them to introduce Classic Sonic and classic gameplay for the past levels, while keeping (and hopefully improving) the shitty Modern model and gameplay in the present. In a perfect world, they would just start again and give Modern Sonic and the Rush gameplay the big fuck-off and make it all Classic, but I think the 3DS Classic/Modern setup is the more realistic thing to expect.

Psh. They won't fix Episode 1. Episode 2 will be whatever it is, but they're not going to go and 'fix' Episode 1. Even if they did, I figure they'd be like George Lucas and make it WORSE anyway.

Best anyone can hope is that they use the updated mechanics for Modern or Classic Sonic so the game doesn't have Sonic floating all over the place and they dump the bad choice of synth voices for a more authentic 'old-school' experience that is still synthy, but in a good way.

I'm going to be stubborn and hope they fix it anyway.

Realistic about what to expect? Yes.

But I suppose you could say the conditions that must be met for me to actually buy it are still very much (what many would perceive as) unrealistic.
