  2. If I had a ride to LA, I would totally do this.

Maybe next year, if this becomes an annual thing.

I will be bringing my talents from South Beach to Los Angeles for this event. Every event needs a little 305 flavor.

    And that sorts out <a href="http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Boom_(event)" target="_blank">this page</a> that I did earlier.

  7. Dammit, I need to get a job so I stop missing out on stuff like this.

EDIT: By which I mean to afford a PLANE ticket to fly to LA.

I might be able to attend this, just have to see if I can squeeze in a quick trip to LA (got the finances for the most part). No guarantees yet though.

SEGA's early registration tickets are now gone, but you can still get some from me.

Any Seattlites driving down? I'd certainly like to show if I can find a way to get there.

Where are you all booking to stay? Trying to get a rough estimate and distance from LAX.

Also good for coordinating the Unofficial Summer of Sonic Does America Retro After Party Boxsocial for Classy Peoples.

No, but I'm originally from the Seattle area. I lived in Burien, Seatac, Renton, Kent and Federal Way for most of my life. It's nice to know someone is from there. :)
    I miss Seattle....

Damnit! Why didn't I see this earlier? Hopefully Retro still has passes. I'm totally up for this!

I'm in! Excited to meet Sonic Retro people! I don't believe I've ever met any of you so this will be exciting. Will there be details on a meetup/hotel stuff soon, or will there not be one?

I'm going with offers from Expedia, which are in the $1K range minimum (including hotel/rental/plane for two). Hearing any recommendations for hotels (or just districts to stay in) in the area would help from locals.

If you stay in Burbank, Glendale or Culver City, you'll have to drive about 15-20 minutes down Interstate-5 to get to the show, but the hotel rates are generally cheaper.

My recommendation is to try to book the Holiday Inn Burbank through a travel website. Not only will you be, like, 10 blocks from my apartment, but you'll be in the heart of a nice downtown district. Other, cheaper options include the Safari Inn and the Portofino Inn (both on West Olive Avenue). In Glendale, the Days Inn and Golden Key Inn can both easily cost you under $90. If you do Culver City, do the Ramada Inn.

When I used to not live here and stay in hotels for gigs, I never stayed downtown, as it sucks. You're stuck down there since traffic is always bad.

Downtown is already crowded with traffic no matter what. People could always take the train I guess.
