I had no idea, I thought the art from the first page was all original.

I still fail to see what is wrong with blue. But I think that some details and elements of the stage having this color you just proposed would suit really nice.

The foreground is still blue, it's just a slightly different shade and to be honest it looks more like metal than it used to. I made the red more like freshly painted girders too.

[IMG][/quote]This one I actually like. Somehow, the brighter colors give the stage a more upbeat feel without straying too far from the theme of the stage. Maybe we could use the original one for just Act 1, and this one can be used for Act 2, or vice-versa?

When you play with the tiles you can see that it is quite versatile. The only problem is the red girder floor slope could do with perhaps a better transition to the floor level. I've made a mockup so you can see that I have had to fudge the transition between one slope and another by putting a street lamp in the foreground (I think it looks nice but it might be an idea to have a smooth slope as well).

I'm digging the color scheme. Red and grayish blue just looks stylish.

Also, sentimental reasons - the pictures look like a zone I've dreamed up as a child.

...I simply hate this zone's name. It's so very vague. Did Sonic ever run in Water Zone? No, but he did in "Hydrocity Zone"!
Why not... I dunno... Electrum Empire? Okay, I don't really like that title either, but it's better then plain "city zone".

The designers of the authentic Sonic Team got an original name first and then they'd had to work around that title. Why aren't we?

*sigh* Names are only temporary, because they don't matter quite yet.

In regret of you having to mention it AGAIN, I am currently banging my head to my keyboard. I am very sorry. :(

I love the Robotnik Constellation, that's some real retro class.

To be honest I favour the original colour scheme more. Those are alright, but it kinda looks more like things have been taken from random sources and stuffed together what with all the different shades of red/brown. In the original it looks like everything was made for each other (almost)

But it depends I suppose on whether you're doing different palettes for each level.

layout wise it looks quite nice though
