Had we heard anything about a season 2 by the time season 1 finished? I can't remember.

EDIT: I went back through the thread and the first mention of Season 2 was the 22nd of Feb, 2016: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=33652&view=findpost&p=853713
The final episode of Season 1 aired on the 14th of November 2015, so 2 years ago tomorrow. I guess if March rolls around and nothing's been said either way...?

I do like how they had that Eggman clone brother robot Steve or whatever his name is refer to Eggman as "Brobotnik" in the finale :v: And gotta love Shadow's edgy logic in this universe. Fuck everything just because Eggman tricked me and I don't like Sonic just because.

I do hope this show gets to go on though. They've done a good job with it, just a shame that the games associated it ranged from ok at best to god awful.

I've watched only a couple episodes of the show and then just saw the season 2 finale. I'm stuck between WTF, call this “SA3”, and “This shit is still better than Forces.” It's like watching a HQ YouTube parody. All in the name of Eggman wanting his own video game. Looks like Boom Sonic is best fit as the permanent non-canon cartoon universe for the series.

*shivers* those songs will never leave my mind... Sonic Boom isn't all bad, just strange. I used to fully hate it, not watch it, and protest at the release of it. Then... I just watched it and was OK with it. Takes a minute to actually get used to Sonic having an unnecessary scarf, Amy having a really short dress, tails having goggles and a strap, and Knuckles being HUGE compared to anyone else in that cannon (Sonic Boom's canon).

The games weren't too great, the show was OK, and all in all: 6/10. It actually made songs... like Sonic Underground. The song was really cringe though. Sonic Underground seal of approval cringe-worthy.

I apologize in advance for anyone who/whom loved the Sonic Boom games, character designs, Sonic Underground, or the song Sonic Boom has.

Didn't I just quote you? Oh well.

When Vector appeared, I remember screaming internally: yes yes yes he is the perfect candidate for a Sonic the Hedgehog comedy show yes yes yes why didn't he join earlier yes yes yes where's the rest of his team yes yes yes he has his own show?!

So, an interesting little tidbit about Dave the Intern. During a reminiscing of Dave's debut episode, a fan asks if beavers had pockets. Alan Denton responds by clarifying that Dave is a "Nutria" (Wikipedia article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coypu (it says Coypu, but in the article it mentions they're also called Nutria)), which is basically a R.O.U.S.

Apparently the voice actor who played Comedy Chimp no longer has anything to do with the show. While he neither confirms nor denies season 3 (He said on his twitter to field all questions about the show towards Sega of America now) it certainly doesn't look good for Boom.

Not just voice actor, Bill Freiberger was one of the showrunners. So yeah, a season 3 is looking pretty unlikely.

    Jack shit.
I didn't expect a Season 3 if it doesn't happen. I would like one though. For all we know this stuff could be about a Season 4.

+ - Now to just wait for those Spazz 1080ps for the rest of the episodes~

I'll be glad if Boom is finally dead. Didn't like the show at all. Ignoring the games, it was little more than a teen Titans go clone.

I'd say it distinguished itself from TTG by always being funny, go fuck yourself and your quote edits.

Throw shade all you want, it's the most successful show on Cartoon Network for a reason. So successful that SoA wanted to copy it.

Anything modern Sonic = automatically bad and needs to burn, basically.

I for one really enjoyed the show. Sure it was hit or miss but when it hits it hits hard. Boom was at it's best when it was doing ironic/self-aware humor.

Finished binging this show on Hulu, its hilarious, but is season 3 dead?

Watching the show, these have been my favorite renditions of all the characters personality wise, and is something I feel we'll never see in any future Sonic game.

Also the artstyle used for the 2D images looked really good

  15. Is Sonic Boom Season 3 even a thing? We don't hear anything about it, but the show doesn't seem to be officially cancelled. What's going on?

Given the length of time involved I think it's fairly safe to say the show's dead.

It's dead, we knew that while back when some of the staff were off looking for work.

R.I.P. retarded Knuckles and his infinite jumping glitch.

Eh...no, not really. A successful new refresh of the brand that brings in a new wave of fans, this isn't, if anything, it might be the complete opposite. At best, Boom probably caught the attention of people who weren't really into Sonic...for a few minutes; but nothing more than that otherwise.

That of which is something I've felt for a while now but I want to really accentuate--this sub-brand was terribly managed from top to bottom and just comes off as a huge waste of resources.

The launch of the Boom series as a worldwide brand was horribly inconsistent and delayed; the show was supposed to start airing at the same time the games launched, which only happened in the US and France. Other countries (including the UK, despite not getting a special English dub for the show) had to wait for over a year before the show started showing in those regions, despite already getting the (poor) tie-in games on time. And speaking of the UK--I'm pretty sure it has actually yet to have aired the second season of the show there, despite S2 having finished its US run last year.

That's not even getting into the fact that the TV show got absolutely awful timeslots/scheduling and promotion (primary network of choice CN/Boomerang may be more to blame about that, but choosing them as the network for the show to air also reflect badly on Sega and co. as CN has had a history of treating such cartoons pretty poorly) or that the series doesn't really distinguish itself as a product that had to be a spinoff--there really isn't anything in Boom they couldn't had done in the main series and with the standard designs. Sega also originally claimed to have over 40 vendors up for licensing merch; but from what I know/observed, the actual number of vendors seems to actually be just a fraction of that.

It's just a mess, and a mostly unnecessary one at that that caused another identity split in the series and its fanbase, and stained the franchise with another godawful game (no matter how loud people scream from the rooftops otherwise, solely because "it's a spinoff").

In light of all of this, I'm not really shocked Sega's quietly shelved it and refocused their efforts back to the main series after just four years in. Outside of learning just how horrible Rise of Lyric managed to turn out, there's not much about Boom's reception that could be described as an exceptional venture.

Does anyone have links to season 2? The ones in that google doc seem to be long dead. Can't find season 2 anywhere.
