A physics fix would likely fix them both, though. They're only as broken as they are because of the lack of proper inertia (right term?). Although, the vines seem to be programmed to launch you the highest when at the top of their swing, whether there would actually be any momentum or not. I'm not so sure about a physics patch fixing that.

*Has never had any sort of issue or trouble with Vines or Cannons whatsoever*

I really can't wait to see what all can come out of this though, it might be the thing to finally get me to mod my Wii.

Great updates Jim! Can you tell me something about the audio in the game? Like it's physical being as in a file.

I was sitting at school and I was thinking of getting home and remixing the casino stage music, maybe not even remix it but an entirely new song. The level was nice and I felt it deserved something jazzy with saxophones and bluesy type instruments. The song that plays there just mocks Casino Night.

The boss theme and Super Sonic theme also make me angry. So blehhhhh. I just got out of school for my Fall Break and I plan on doing a lot of music related things (this was one of them) because my desires are locked on to these types of things.

Honestly I have to wonder what the point is of using "Sonic 4" as a base for anything. Sentimental reasons related to the title? This is a typical DIMPS game through and through, so aside from giving us a few laughs and making Ruby Eclipse sigh it's not really doing much.

It's also a 2D Sonic game on current-gen consoles. Go figure.

This question is directed at the Sonic 4 hackers in general. Are there any plans to release a patch that just fixes physics, and doesn't mess with anything else? That includes uncurling and dash pads rolling you up. I'd like to see how the game plays with just a physics patch.

This'd be the only thing I'm immediately interested in regarding a Sonic 4 hack, to be honest, just to see if it COULD be done without drastically breaking the game. Any hacks of S4 that are actually full-on level hacks wouldn't be the actual game any more - it'd be a hack =P

Yeah that's pretty much my thinking as well. Though it would be interesting to see if simply fixing the physics would make the game unplayable, since supposedly they couldn't do it without a redesign.

Also here's a thought: Sonic 4 XL :|

Yeah it would be interesting to see that considering what Dimps told Ruby. I genuinely believe they lied through their teeth. And I hope when the physics do get sorted, that they can be shown up for their half arsed job.

Fourth'd, I suppose. Though I probably don't feel as strongly about it as the three above me.

Anything like that unleashed classic conversion image of sonic would be amazing. =P
I'm looking forward to seeing where all of this hacking leads to.

Wait- we already have the model format?

If so, what is it? Are there existing tools?
