Preferably without any color/brightness correction? I think there's some detail being lost in the darkness there.
Christ I wish Retro would talke this much of an interest in all the other things we need scanning. 1200dpi for a dodgy off-camera screenshot is crazy as it is - I don't think you're going to get any better than that. The colour has clearly been printed wrong - leave that scanner alone!
...This is not just "for the wiki", this is of general interest. Any early Sonic 1 prototypes deserve a "best possible scan" more than most of the stuff in the wiki.

I'm working on that. I'm usually busy at work with not much free time. It will take me a while but it will get done. There's around 200 pages.
You're a madman, cornholio857. Thank you for scanning the image so many times to meet our requests! This is where I'd disagree; having the images that were printed in magazines - even if we have the ROM the images are of - still strikes me as being something worth archiving. Granted, I drifted away for awhile and haven't touched the wiki since I've drifted back so my word likely doesn't mean much on that front.
Sure, but if we can get a screenshot of the actual game then that is better to use. As for magazine scans, they already have their own place on the wiki, but we need new scans when needed anyway.
Thanks for these /> I'll post my results later today. I initially tried to remove the unneeded information on my first attempt, but I kind of forgot the scanlines were part of the image, so I removed them along with the moire lol. EDIT: Here a 600dpi crop, I'll post the full image later:
Enjoy! Edit: Can someone scan THIS at high DPI? I may be able to recover some detail on the background :O
Wow... Great work, to both of you. :O EDIT: Hey, how about the other super-early demo screenshots with the non-robotic baddies? Can those be restored like this one?
I've been keeping an eye out for all of these mock-ups. The unfortunate thing is when they do show up, they're often quite small - that shot is genuinely the best one I've seen so far. I have replaced some of the later mock-ups in recent months though. It's better than it was.
If you look closely at the image of the badnik kicking sonic, you'll see that sonic has a white crescent below his nose. Could that have been a smile originally planned for sonic to have?
