So I went on a College Trip with 4 of my College mates today, it brought back the memories of Toyland Tours (It closed for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride) This ride was a typical slowly-float-around-in-a-plastic-boat ride. One thing though that it had a Sonic Section. I don't really remember much since I was only little the last time I went on it, but by looking at the video below, seems like a Semi-deformed Sonic Statue, holding a pimp cane surrounded by videos of Collision Chaos from Sonic CD (Seems like a promotion attempt since the ride was made in 1994) Once entered the section the music that follows you down in the repetitive Alton Towers music manor gets added with sounds from Sonic 1.

Anyway, Have a screenshot of Sonic.

    And a Video:

If anyone was interested in listening to the Toyland Tours Sonic Tune, it can be found here:

So have you even seem Sonic Appearances around where you live?

I have been trying to remember where I saw this for years, it was Alton Towers then. If I remember correctly, the game video being played beside Sonic wasn't one that was publicly available, right? That may be just me with a really bad memory, though.

EDIT: From the video, it appears to have been Sonic CD - a game which, at the time, I hadn't played. That explains it then.

There was one Sonic in a mall that I go every now and then, promoting Unleashed, perhaps 2 meters tall. It was really well done, perfect, and I bowed and shook his hand, much to the dismay of some people there. I had forgotten my phone though, so no pictures. I hope it's still there, because this reminded me and I plan going there this weekend.

Spelunking in the proverbial belly of the ASM beast.
I have, unfortunately, never seen any interesting Sonic sighting that I can remember. Nothing beyond the normal merchandise and comics for me. :(

Love the pimp cane Sonic. Only a slight hint of Down Syndrome there.

The roflcopter has left the landing pad.

I can't say I've seen Sonic around here outside of an insanity attack, but this topic almost REQUIRES this image.

I don't understand. I thought Sonic always had a mouth on both sides of his face.

I think he means how the mouth vanishes under the nose. It looks like Sonic has TWO mouths.

They included a portion of Green Hill Zone in the music!? That's HAWT. I love Green Hill Zone Toyland Tours Remix! How much did DCT get for this?

I sent the Sonic tune to fastfeet media ages ago. Its on the FTP.

I have a few photos of that Sonic in my old album. When they replaced the ride with the Charlie and the Chocolate factory I wanted to go to Alton Towers and see if I could get the statue.

For anyone interested in hearing the whole tune for the ride, including the Sonic part, you can get it here along with more on ride videos: Towers Times - Media Archive It's catagorised under "Toyland Tours".

    Also, Sega World London:

From what I remember, this has also gone now.

Sega World London? Ah memories. (And yeah, it's gone.)
If I remember correctly, there was an even bigger statue of him in there.

Need to deform his eyes too. :v:

There was also that instance of a Sonic statue at an E3 some years ago (along with Shadow and Silver). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, to hop on the Blast Processing bandwagon:

I missed the '90s already. We may have better gaming hardware now, but back then we had better software, and isn't that the important part? :colbert:

I seem to remember my friend saying a few years back (2006-ish) that the statue was flogged off on eBay to a Alton Towers collector. Since Alton Towers have a account and sell all the old stuff for Charity. Apparently, It was kept in one of those Storage buildings in Hanley. (The city in Stoke which is right next to Alton)

Or, as Uncyclopedia captions that image: 'How to Pleasure an Invisible Goat'.

Those are quite impressive statues, and probably some of the best Sonic-related statues I have ever seen. I think they had one at that Sega fun centre in Japan as well.

I think there was this pawn shop long ago where there was this Sonic statue, can't remember the height though.

On the side of that, I've also seen a 4 foot tall Mario statue in a Toys r us which they put up in 1996. Best part is, it's still there.

EDIT: Bad memory, I don't think it was a pawn shop, so I'll just say "some store".
