Okay torrents are fine, but I don't plan on downloading ALL the games. I only really want the Sonic prototypes.

Will the original split files (or just a CD image) be released as well? It could be interesting to preserve them as they were stored originally, including the creation date for each file, original naming, folder structure for the backups, etc. And also for those who might want to burn these in EPROMS, so they don't have to split them again.
I believe he said a full dir list of the cds will be released at some point in the future, but not the original cd images as they contain confidential info that could reveal his source (I think...)
I'm sure a lot of people are going to leech-and-go on this, so I plan on seeding as long as possible after the download. I strongly encourage everyone else to do the same (probably a given for most of you, but just as a general reminder)
I will, and on my new computer, Bittorrent doesn't slow down the net any, so seeding will not be a prob. how soon after the initial torrent should we look by here for some specific direct downloads. I will get the torrent on sunday, but like others, I will be on the road saturday, so I will be using my psp for the initial release, and to my best knowledge, there isn't a bittorrent client for psp
I'll seed but I'm going to limit the upload speed to like 30kb/s or something because I need the space to upload the Protos on to my mirror (w00 sig). Greetz
I won't use the torrents because I really hate them, but as I said I'm going to set up a mirror for the Sonic protos (given that I'll manage to download them first, of course). I may also mirror some non-sonic stuff, not sure yet.
Has there been an estimated file size of the entire torrent(s?) yet? And has the tracker been decided too? I can mirror as many files as I can from my hosting as well (incase anyone wants an idea of bandwidth, the page with that info is right here). I don't receive much traffic, so I should be in the clear if I just host MD roms. But who knows, I could probably host some of those ISOs too. But I'll definitely seed the torrent all weekend, that's for sure.
I've got some hosting I could use to mirror anything not an ISO. And no, it's not the hosting I got on Hacking-CulT. Here's an open suggestion to drx: add 3 or so protos at a time as regular downloads to hidden-palace every week on a day like Tuesday. Similar to what Nintendo does with Virtual Console releases. That way it's not done all at once (and those that want it all at once can just get the torrent). Can't wait for Saturday to start downloading!
I think if the main sonic roms (Sonic 2, 3, S+K, Chaotix, Sonic 3D) are adequately mirrored most will be happy. I'm happy to get the other roms at a more leisurely pace later on.
