A couple of things;

To answer my previous question,
Spoiler

There was another discussion about Casino Night; whether it was already on the disc, unlocked with a DLC key, or if it was an actual DLC.
I noticed that Casino Night was in someone's music rip. Was it from the CD or were you able to redeem your DLC and took it from there?

Last topic; I think I liked the live version of Classic Escape from the City better than the in-game version. The frequent, 'Oh yeah!'s made those parts of the song not feel empty.
I feel like they should've put that version in without the sounds of a ring being collected.

Casino Night is likely a key. While generally a shady practice, this is simply a preorder bonus. This isn't to say this will be the general practice for DLC in this game though, seeing as how I don't think any other DLC has been found on the disc.

Do we even know for sure that there's going to be more DLC?

Well, both 06 and unleashed had DLCs. 06's DLC was on disk already though.

Okay, I gave in and downloaded the music rip. Holy fuck, that Casino Night remix is amazing. Also, to all the Americans, good luck picking up your pre-orders. I'll be over here, staring jealously until the 4th. :P

I got the PC version, so I'm right there with you. I've been so tempted to click these spoiler tags.

They'd be idiots not to release DLC of some kind.

Surely they know they'd make a shitzillion dollars off of that, as if the game itself won't sell that much alone anyway. :specialed:

I'd hope they cover the Game Gear Games if they do DLC.

I just want some more Sonic3&K levels, frankly. The fact they didn't put Lava Reef/Hidden Palace in there is criminal.

Maybe some 2P mode levels too.

>implying you wouldn't want to see Azure Lake remade in 3D

Cutscene/event music isn't generally kept with the stage music, and for prerendered stuff it can't be easily extracted since the voice acting is there too. That's something you'll have to wait for the OST to get, I'd bet.

Umm but I thought the cutscenes wern't pre-rendered? wern't they all real time CGI?

Apparently a couple are, but that was true of Unleashed and all but maybe a couple tracks of the cutscene music wasn't there either.

On the other hand I don't think the cutscene dialogue was with the rest of the dialogue (but I don't have said files so I have no idea if such is true or not), though I have no idea where it is.
Wouldn't be surprised if any given cutscene's dialogue was dubbed over the corresponding music and all in a single (nonlooped) file somewhere.

Sonic Generations could be the best-selling game of all time and I'd still be worried about whether they'd do any real DLC. Not enough games make use of it, if you ask me.

Well, I guess the "best" part about being in Europe is that it doesn't matter whether I decide to get it for a console or PC, because I need to wait either way. ... :(

They didn't put allot of thought into cutscene music this time. I'm sure whatever tracks are in the pre-rendered are in the CGI tracks as well. Hell they used the Time Eater's final boss theme several times in the cutscenes.

I just got a text from GameStop as well. I gotta pay it off by 10 P.M. on Monday. I'm gonna trade in some PlayStation 2 games!

So maybe they're going to go "↑ & ↓ & ↻" trying to find something wrong (might be thinking of another reviewer though) with this other than things like a cartoon hedgehog popping out of the sign post.

Regarding DLC? We have three levels and two bosses for the fourth generation of consoles ('Classic'), the sixth generation of consoles ('Dreamcast') and the seventh generation ('Modern'). In a perfect world, we'd get treated to DLC of the fifth generation - a reimagined Sonic R location, a reimagined Sonic 3D Blast location and a Sonic X-treme level for the first time ever, with the rival being Nack (in the Marvellous Queen? To match the whole running thing) and some kind of 3D Blast boss, both done by Classic Sonic to balance out the uneven boss ratio.

But of course the realistic scenario is that DLC will probably consist of new acts, new missions, new music and maybe new modes or character skins. Actual brand-new levels? Fat chance guys, Sonic Team might be starting to show that they actually care about the fans but let's not get ahead of ourselves - it takes a significant amount of effort to make Sonic levels these days, hence the fact that there's only 9 in the game to start with.

If they do DLC outside of hard mode crap like they have in the past, they'll probably take it an extra level from each era, probably from a different game. My money's on Sonic 3 (IceCap is a necessity), Shadow the Hedgehog (Only game left in that narrow console era that's a platformer on some level, no preference for any stage because I haven't played it), and Sonic and the Secret Rings (As it was hinted at in the cutscenes as canon; I'd prefer Night Palace.).

As always I'll hold that re-using art assets to make actual levels from Stardust Speedway and Final Rush would be wonderful. Shouldn't be too much work, both stages are generally well-liked by the fan-base, could give the sound team a little extra to do, and I can't imagine it being excessively costly. Depending on how much of the Eggmanland assets are in the Egg Dragoon fight (I'm assuming it happens there), they could potentially do the same and make another Eggmanland level.

I dunno. I'll take extra mission DLC if they make it and it's good, but this seems like a good time to go the extra mile, as unlikely as it may be.
