It should be Winter CES 1984. Star Trek III was announced there (not playable), and Congo Bongo released December 1984. Wico Computer Command was a range of joysticks that were at several CES shows from this time, so not so useful for dating. Sega don't seem to have had much presence (or at least no significant announcements) at Summer CES 1984. I should convert and upload the pre-SMS Computer Entertainer newletters.

Then did Sega also make wallbox extension units? That fits the time period but I'm not sure about the Japanese locale...
The Sega 1000 is the only jukebox that I know of that Sega designed and manufactured itself. The business involved distributing Rock-Ola products in Japan, so whatever Rock-Ola built in the 60s and 70s... probably made it to Japan in some form (the parts were made in Chicago, but were assembled in Tokyo or Osaka or wherever). There's this blurry scan from somewhere that lists some of the products Sega sold... at some point in history: but other than that I can't say. I started making a list a few years ago but it's tricky because the only clues Sega were involved are a few labels on the back of the unit.
Sega announced all sorts of movie tie-ins in 1983. Most were cancelled before development even began. Looks like they jumped the gun and made some merchandise though. Friday the 13th was meant to be released for the Atari 2600, but this badge is all that Sega got out. I would guess it's from Winter CES 1983, but who knows. If anyone wants to look for physical evidence of the planned Airplane! game, I just want to say, good luck - we're all counting on you.
Yes, Winter CES 1983, I think their first show. I'll upload the rest of these when I can convert them to PDFs with Acrobat, there seemed to be an issue when I used a Linux app. Edit: I see on the Summer CES 1983 page that the Bally Midway games Tapper, Spy Hunter, and Up 'n' Down are listed, but no sources. I suspect that these are from a different show (probably summer 1984) as the 1983 show was before Bally Midway bought Sega Electronics, and I haven't seen any mention of those games until 1984.
Just to inform... it looks that arcade board collector ShouTime dumped a China arcade bootleg of Bare Knuckle 3... that's all I know about it...
Now the real question is: Is the ROM set a bootleg, or is that bootleg hardware? Speaking of, has this "clonebergh" been documented before?
Shenmue (and its sequel) let you play arcade games. There's Space Harrier and Hang-On and a few other arcade-like distractions which were assumed to have been made up just for the game. I mean surely a game like "QTE Title" must have been made up, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3nCOLrzKAg Not quite. It's actually based on something - Big Title which is so unbelievably rare I'm not sure even the Shenmue community is on top of this one. Couldn't possibly tell you what the story is, but it seems a company known as "Togo" was partly responsible, which might explain the name change. Unfortunately it's all a pack of lies. Shenmue takes place in 1986, whereas according to this flyer, Big Title wasn't released until at least 1989.
Was reading an article about how the Yakuza 6's demo could be glitched into further game and someone in the comments says that the Dreamcast Chu Chu Rocket demo release was the full single-player mode. Do we have any evidence of this and can it be documented?
RE: F1 So Sega backed the winning constructors in 1993. That's the F1 car they had replicated in SegaWorld London and were really proud of. Turns out Sega didn't leave the sport on a high. 1994 - Sega sponsored Lotus. The Lotus 107. It did an excellent job not winning any races, and then was destroyed when Pedro Lamy crashed it during testing. He also broke both his legs and wrists. In 2002, Jordan The Jordan EJ12 also didn't win anything. Nobody got hurt except Eddie Jordan's pride. Maybe.

Apparently the Sega sponsored European Grand Prix at Donington in 1993 was not a financial success and the circuit owner alone lost over £4Million as a result. I always wondered if that played a part in Sega downscaling their F1 sponsorship. On a similar note, the 3rd round of the championship was supposed to be an Asian Grand Prix held at Autopolis, Japan, which was moved to Donington after the circuit went bankrupt. Would Sega have had the same involvement there?
Because I know you're keen - that particlar flavour of the Jordan-Honda EJ12 wasn't used for the whole season. It appeared at Suzuka and... probably some other places but cruicially, the Sega sponsor does not carry through to any of the F1 video games of the time. Surprisingly there were three for the 2002 season - "F1 2002" by EA, "Formula One 2002" by Sony Computer Entertainment and "Grand Prix Challenge" by Atari. It would be unreasonable to expect them to swap textures for each race for maximum accuracy™ - I'd be surprised if they bother to do that even today. Nothing to report on Lotus's 1994 season in video games.
This is apparently Raul Boesel driving for Dick Simon Racing for the 1992 PPG Indy Car World Series (specifically the Indianapolis 500). I say "apparently" because unlike F1, nobody keeps track of this stuff. There's seemingly only two photos on the internet, both of different blue cars with Sega sponsorships. Speaking of the 1993 European Grand Prix: Looks like they televised it through giant Game Gears. This pleases me.

As with the location test House of the Dead pictures, a Star Wars Trilogy proto has popped up on the Arcade-Project forms and it also uses those undocumented flash chips. Speaking of Model3 tech, AndyGeezerServices blog shows an interesting piece of history not even SOA got, which just goes to show how tight-lipped and arrogant SOJ was during this time (still is): A Sega Flash Burner, which wrote or erased EEPROMs for the Model3. These show very good pictures of the Flash ROMs that we don't have documented on the Wiki.
The reason there were several officially licenced F1 games around at the time was because (If I'm remembering this correctly), several companies all had a claim to the rights to the championship, including Fuji Television. Psygnosis infamously got into trouble with F1 97 after they used the FIA logo on the box art rather than the FOCA/Fuji one they actually had the deal with! Grand Prix 2 on DOS is possibly your best bet for Lotus as it was based on the late 1994 season, although I'm guessing the Sega logo might be indistinct if it's there! (On a similar note, the modder who created Donington 93 for Grand Prix 4 actually included the Sonic balloon!)
