Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Master Edition

    Here is a hack I'm currently working on for S3&K, making the level difficulty much harder, the layouts of the levels are mostly rebuilt.
    This is mainly a start hack to learn hex, I have also edited some boss patterns and HP (IE first miniboss in AIZ now fires his flame attack almost the second he lands then flies off again without waiting leaving allot less time to hit him on).

    Wow, I think that's actually pretty impressive. The Sky sanctuary is the only thing that gets to me.. You know? It looks a little.. "plain". Maybe add a few clouds, or so, then it'll look great. :D Nice job, nonetheless.

    This, I'm REALLY looking forward to, since it's not very often you see a level design hack of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Nice work.

    Looks nice, and making a hack to change the behaviour of stuff in S3&K is something I've never seen before. Keep up the good work. :)

    Wow! For hacking a game such as S3K, this is excellent! How'd you go about editing the boss patterns, exactly?

    Thanks all for the replys.
    I will be updating the first post with progress as time goes.

    Well still learning the basics, might release a small guide for it once I get better.
    But quickly said I first find the boss I want to alter then I alter some events, events is normally in XX7C YYYY ZZZZ format.

    I.E $6B05C lies the amount of bombs Robotnik drops on the HCZ boss, 117C 0008 0039.

    Make sure to stress tricky rather than impossible difficulty; however besides that, it'd be cool if you could alter the Knuckles final boss and such; there's a few places where moving around bosses would make things more difficult. Also, yeah, that AIZ pallette needs a few edits.

    With all the good replys I got alot more motivated so I believe a beta version should be out abit faster, the first beta should have all levels up to MGZ complete and a few bosses more I believe.

    Anyway I few more shots, feedback appreciated. :)

    ^ Small boss edit, besides the room he now makes the water circulate faster, leaves almost instantly after done with it, and a few more stuff.

    And about the difficulty, yeah I have thought about it and I believe it was abit too hard so I have redused it slightly, also note I don't want to base it on bad luck deaths or puzzles.
    Anyway depending on feedback I might increase or decrease the difficulty.

    Wow, this looks absolutely excelent. As for the difficulty, I think the main thing would be to make it hard, but not something that would then be easy once you know how to do it. Something with replay value that doesn't rely on pits, heh.

    I'm doing a hack of S3K myself, so it'd be nice if you could make a small guide on editing bosses and events.
