"Legend tells of some magical sega genesis sonic the hedgehog 2 cartridges, that upon realizing that the colorized ending sequence shown actually was something special, selfdestructs or gets replaced with a regular cartridge"
Is that a theory? A rumor? A wish? :P Their little 160x120 (?) grayscale box images... interesting but kind of a let down as the only visual until the end of the credits compared to Sonic 1... or really any Gensis Sonic game thereafter.
Like I say, I'm sure I've seen this colourised ending. I'm heading down to my brothers house this weekend (I hope), and I'm going to check out the Mega Drive I used to play on (now my neices'), and see if I can find the ending on there...
The legend says that a hero will arise and find the magical cartdrige that wasn't affected by the evil curse. *tries his Sonic 2 cartdrige* I'm not the legendary hero.... ;_;
Does anyone know how those screens are laid out on the Genesis? (which layers are used, etc). Because it's entirely possible, theoretically speaking, to use sprites or possibly another layer to add more colors. But I don't know if the layout of the grayscale ones would even allow for that.
OMFG I gtz teh rarey Snic 2 scret versn wit teh Colueyes endwing!!!!!!! Im em teh Master and will sell it to yeh for lik a bijillion dollars and I be rich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111one *killed by a rabid monkey* Why did this topic get archived?
No idea. There doesn't exist a colorized ending at all. The background movie was made with a grayscale palette, and it couldn't have been colorized.
This topic is just wierd. I don't really understand it. Is this just some wierd 2-bit story, or what?
The first few times I finnished Sonic 2, the ending was in colors. No lies here, I'm not a hoaxer. My family confirmed it. Like I said, though, it mysteriously seems to disappear for the people who claim to have seen it.
Do you need to beat the game honestly, without level select/debug? `Cause I can`t do that, it`s too hard. :D
