Sonic 2 8-bit has lots of words and stuff hidden in the walls in multiple zones. (and in rings in multiple zones)

Namely the words TOM, END, and RAY. The ones who made the game right? Also Sonic Chaos.

The most recent thing of this type I can think of is in Sonic Rush Adventure's Pirates Island. Quality isn't good, but at 0:06 in this video.

Nice work Master Emerald for the map! Very interesting screens here. That zone select screen, is that in-game or is that the one you see when you activate debug in the final? I can't remember...

This game is worth owning the system for if you are a classic Sonic fan

It's a short, downgraded rehash of Sonic 2 with S3&K music.

The NGPC is worth owning for SNK vs. Capcom. Definitely not for Sonic.

I understand your point but the level design is completely different. I know the game is far from original, but I see nothing wrong with a rehash if it's classic Sonic and the gameplay is still fun. I agree SNK vs Capcom is awesome though, I also like Metal Slug First Mission on that system. The analog stick is the best I've used on any portable system.

...But it's not analog, is it?

No, it's the same kind of stick as the Neo Geo CDZ controller.

My bad, you're right it is not analog control, it is a digital joystick. Whatever it is it feels really nice and sort of clicks in different directions. I much prefer a D-Pad in Sonic games but they do make it work in Pocket Adventure. The joystick is great for fighting games, something that I felt gameboy and gameboy color could never get right.
