    I've researched about these a little. The problem is it so needs more research.

    Game Gear

    All of the Game Gear Games have an extra 0 between the publisher characters and the game character. So for the early ones (until 1992 or something, like I said, I need to research this more) it's either the numbers that are here or with plus 0.

    T-26 - (?????) Sigma Enterprises
    T-28 - Genki
    T-32 - Wolf Team > Namco Tales Studio
    T-33 - Kaneko
    T-44 - Sanritsu
    T-49 - Telenet Japan, later used for Riot division
    T-51 - Micro Cabin (T-51017, T-51027)
    T-52 - System Soft (T-52017) - I have no clue if they merged later, but that's their configuration at this time.
    T-54 - Face > ASCII (not sure about the merge, but the name is Face)

    What happened to all the codes before T-11? o_O I don't think Sega would start numbering at a number like 11, so I must be missing something here or there are effectively codes not in that list.

    There were two third party releases (Silver Cartride Series) for the Mark III, Master System, that predate the T-Series designation

    Argos no Ju-Jiken (aka Rygar), Code = 001
    Solomon no Kagi (aka Solomon's Key), Code = 002

    Both were by Tecmo

    So it is strange that Tecmo was assigned T-36. I was going to suggest that perhaps Tecmo were T-10, and Sega just started the T-Series at two digits, but that doesn't really work.

    When was the first Tecmo Mega Drive game, though? They were probably assigned T-36 because they reached quite late. I know that Sega relied on small companies at first because Nintendo held a monopoly on all the big companies with their exclusivity contracts (today that would be called an indie heaven =P).

    Also wait, what about the ROM serial numbers? SOJ and SOA/SOE used different methods to number their own programs. I feel too lazy to check the exact syntax (=P), but whatever, does anybody know if the company numbering also affects this field? Maybe T-01 to T-10 is Sega =|

    That actually did cross my mind, given that there's roughly ten internal studios (though admittedly some like SST not making games) going around the time of the Mega Drive. I don't think there'd be any concrete way to prove that outside of internal docs, though.

    Writing my own MD/Genesis sound driver :D
    Well just for the hell of it we went through a GoodGen set a few days ago with a small program I wrote to extract the copyright field out of ROMs and there doesn't seem to be anything we haven't documented in the wiki page now. If someone could provide me with ROM header layouts for other systems that have T-xx codes in the headers I could modify this to keep scanning other GoodSets.

    Well, for Game Gear and Master System games there is Maxim's Header Reader. I checked a dozen of ROMs and I could confirm some of those T-codes such as T-11 for Taito and T-81 for Acclaim.

    I just remembered, not all companies had T-xx codes - some used a four character abbreviature (Sega included). Maybe those would be assigned the T-01 to T-10 codes, but never decided to switch to the T-xx system? Which are the non-T-xx codes that have been used?

    T-999 was used as prototype dummy headers sometimes.

    According to TmEE's doc, there are some Technosoft games which use T-19 in the header; this is strange, seeing as I can't find any actual releases using T-19. What games use this?

    Has the ROM been dumped? If there's no other way, it might be possible to find out who made it by looking for the sound driver and compression formats. This would only tell you the developer though, not the publisher.

    About that game, it seems to be called "San San" and it requires the Mega Modem. I don't think there's a dump.

    Edit: According to Wikipedia, it was developed and published by "San San". (a race horse? haha....)

    Do we have a list of all the 670-xxxx serials that Sega used? Apparently everything released by Sega, hardware and software alike, had that number.

    I believe all carts and discs from Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast are 670, but in everything else, there are exceptions.

    Accessories have no print code of the sort. An exception is the King of Fighters cart for SS, with a 670 code. Packing for all accessories ranges from 671 to 672.

    A fair few manuals are 672 (about half the Saturn collection is like this), even if the CD and pack are 670. A bizarre coding is Shining Force III is 700, 710 and 720 for CD, manual and pack.

    Dreamcast games seem to be the most eccentric. There are no 670 games and they follow this rule: 810 in the manual, 820 in the pack, 830 in the CD.

    Then there are the demos: Both Flash Volume 1 have 670 but both Dream On Volume 1 have 832 / 833 on the discs. Then the "given" games, such as Virtua Fighter (first version) with no code on the manual or pack.

    PC games after Heroes have no code at all, at least the versions I have.

    I speak of PAL at least.

    Such a list is too extensive. To my knowledge, no one ever attempted it.

    Well is there even a partial one? With madroms' help I could maybe write up most Saturn things, but is there a list for dreamcast, megadrive, master system, mark-whatever, and arcade stuff?

    No, there is none, at least I've put some codes in google and nothing came up. I can help out with some MD, SS and DC, both games and accessories for PAL and some japanese unsorted stuff.

    PAL games have a particularity too. The code is 670-xxxx and then have a -50 in appendix. However, sometimes it is not 50 but some other number, and these are scattered across several countries. As an example, there are two DBZ: Legends series. One is 06, I got this one back in the day, I believe it's the U.K. version (disc was made in Ireland). Then there is the French version, with 09. The back covers are slightly different. Who knows if there's a German / Spanish / Italian, whatever code number.

    Notice the first has The Legends as subtitle but the second does not.

    In addition :flunked: I've read somewhere said that there are two U.K. packs, one is cardboard, the other sleeve. The one above is the most antique one, cardboard. Equal to the one that I have. I've never seen a sleeve one, and I can't say the number is the same.
