Yes but Sonic X doesn't have "100% SOK", which means it's a lot worse.

Anyway A+ for effort.

Cough.

One of Butters's possible attacks as Professor Chaos in The Stick of Truth is called "Chaos Blast," if that counts. I don't think Parker and Stone know all that much about Sonic beyond that, though. But I do like to imagine what a Sonic game written by them would be like sometimes.

Seeing as Matt and Trey are big gamers and there was an episode where Cartman's goal was to get enough money to buy a Dreamcast, there's probably a good chance they played SA2 at some point.

Not sure of the reuse of this sprite has ever been noted. It was edited slightly in Sonic 3 however.

Has anyone noticed that Sonic Drift 2 uses Sonic 3 alone's invincibility music.

https://www.youtube....l=BrawlBRSTMs3X

Does this rule out this composition by MJ's team? Because it was one of the songs that sounded like one of the surest fire hits to be a MJ song.

Sonic Drift 2 also used Sonic 3's boss music

That's interesting, but makes more sense because it was also in Sonic and Knuckles and sounds in the Japanese team style.

The invincibility theme though sounds like the MJ style and was replaced in Sonic and Knuckles.

Also, while Sonic Drift 2 has an Ice Cap zone, it uses a completely different song...

Hmm... the invincibility theme has never stuck out to me as being in the MJ style. All the tracks that do feel in that style to me are coincidentally the ones that ended up being replaced in S&KC. I believe, for this reason, that all the tracks composed by the MJ team (MJ, Brad Buxer, Scirocco, Bobby Brooks, etc...) were the ones replaced in S&KC, given that I do not believe any of these tracks have returned in any form besides emulated versions of Sonic 3 (& Knuckles).

Sonic Pocket Adventure reused some songs from Sonic 3. Every song used is from S3 alone (including the S&K themes in the soundtest) unless otherwise stated.

Act clear
Death Egg Act 1 & 2 (Both acts used Act 2 originally)
Mushroom Valley Act 1
Hydrocity Act 1
Act 2 boss
Sky Sanctuary Act 1
Gumball Bonus Stage
Slot Machine Bonus Stage
Drowning
Extra Life (S&K only)
Game clear
Game over
Miniboss (S&K version in the S3 soundtest)
Desert Palace Zone
Chrome Gadget Zone
Special Stage Emerald
Invincibility (S&K only)
Flying Battery Act 2
Knuckles's theme (This was the backing channel of the S3 miniboss)
Final Boss
Doomsday Zone
Angel Island Act 1
Data Select/sound test
Angel Island Act 2
Hydrocity Act 2
Azure Lake
Title Screen (S&K only)

You beat me to it. This probably wasn't coincidental either.

I assume you're referring to MJ music rights? 'Cause Emerald Hill, Hill Top, Casino Night, Mystic Cave, and Death Egg also say hi.
I figured the sound team was just stretching their creative limbs rather than any deliberate attempt to hide away rights issues. Considering the time, the game was just another throwaway portable Sonic title in the mid '90s. Obtaining rights for a small handful of songs for this kind of game would be pretty pointless.

Not the game footage of it but someone put the South Park voice clips in their respective SA2 spots.
