216: Episo is still listed as the top character in title cards yet it says Featuring Knuckles The Echidna on the title screen.

I assume they wanted a character that people could relate to Sonic without actually being Sonic. Then again, Knuckles does that pretty well on his own, so I might just be blowing smoke out my ass. Or perhaps to start a new franchise with Espio as the lead? Beuller?
Espio was the only original character in the game (aside from Heavy). Knuckles - Mega Drive Mighty - Arcade Charmy Bee - Manga Vector - old scrapped character Metal Sonic - Mega-CD (Bomb - Sonic 1) Espio - Totally new!
