Keep up the awesome work, I can't believe how fast you've hacked this game. By the way, do you have a short guide for the max rings cheat(for the wii version)? I already have Cheat Engine but I'm having a hard ass time finding the address for rings nevermind, saw the post on page 3 that said to use artmoney instead of cheat engine.

Hate to be so bothersome, but is there any chance we could just get a .wad of Sonic 4 with fixed physics attributes? If not, then what exactly must be done if we would like to do it by scratch?

I believe Jim and/or Endri said we'd all know when they'd worked out how to alter things like that.

What with physics being the main complaint about the game, do you really think they'd ignore them, or not tell us if they'd fixed them?

Well, Endri did fix them in that video he put up on page 3; unless I must stand corrected.

The reason I ask is because it was a release done for the 360, which requires your 360 to be j-tagged to edit. A .wad file edited from the Wii version of S4 would make this hack much more open to the public; since it is playable on most computers via Dolphin.

Shoot, sorry; I forgot everything had been done on the 360 so far; I thought it was just the Wii. specialed.png In that case, I fully concur! :D

I remember Endri mentioning some fixes now, although IIRC they weren't as extensive as most would prefer.

You can't just magically use the same executable from a 360 game in a Wii game. There are no Wii physics fixes, and probably won't be a for a while.

Well, I knew that, but I thought it was said at some point that the code to all the versions of Sonic 4 was identical, meaning that every version could be edited the same way.

How exactly would such vastly different platforms share identical code? Even if the original source was extremely similar, they'd compile differently.

This is why we can't just do it in 5 seconds. We need to disassemble the executable and find the code for things in new locations and edit it there. I personally am not experienced with PPC asm, so you'll need to wait for Endri to do something with it most likely.

Something that's been bugging me. Sonic 4 has BRSAR files. I tired using HCS's unpackers, but it doesn't seem to work.

Hey, I need some help.

I need to get the speed shoes in these 4 acts, because either they're too difficult to find in the act or they forgot to put tvs in some of them:

1.) Casino Street Act 3
2.) Lost Labyrinth Act 1
3.) Mad Gear Act 2
4.) Mad Gear Act 3

I was figuring I'd post it here since it looks like you can replace a TV box with some hax, which would be easier for me to record the rest of the music from the Wii version without playing each act 1092379837592375 times just to find some god damn shoes. If there are ways to get the speed shoes in these acts, please do tell - because I can't find any of them. I just need a savestate near each act that needs speed shoes so I can record the rest of the songs that I'm missing.

I'm very close to recording the entire Wii version soundtrack, I just need these 4 songs and I can releaseeeeeeeeeeee.

The BRSAR format doesn't cease to be updated thus rendenring most of the rip tools outdated and useless.

But doesn't the format stay static with the game it's with? EX: game x has an older version and can still be ripped from while game Y has the latest version and needs a new ripper.
