[Dark Sonic]

Because I didn't want to derail the Sonic 4 topic anymore I made this. It's a topic to discuss why things are the way they are. Basically fan fiction, but it's not because we aren't calling it that. When we last left off, we were talking about carnivals, why no one is in them, and then someone brought up the idea that Robotnik is the 1% and Sonic is a 99%er gone too far. I like that idea. Sonic you prick, get a job.

Let me make this clear this topic is about plot and story theories, not development theories. Unless perhaps they're related. Perhaps those ghosts in sandopolis zone represent iizuka's lost soul trapped for all eternity inside a pyramid.

Basically, think similarly to what any traditional 8th grade english teacher might do with any book ever. Those blue curtains aren't just blue curtains, their the hopes and dreams of the main character on a tuesday.

LOL It needs to be done. We could speculate why Robotnik is the villain and Sonic is the hero. I mean think about it, Robotnik builds shit, creates jobs, does entertainment, is an economist, does all the things that we like and Sonic comes along and destroys shit. For all we know the story of Sonic is a complete lie and he's nothing more than a hippy that wants to destroy everything because he can't fit into a Robotnik body suit and goes and fucks up the other animals day by smashing their Robotnik vehicle that they just blew their allowance on.

Mr. Ivo Eggy Buttnik does things that you THINK you like, he just wants you to "love" him while he uses you to his evil schems.
The proof is Little Planet itself, a good enviroment to test since time is so easy to manipulate there, everything looks nice in the present but in the long term it's horrible and painfull under Ivo's control.
Sonic is not against tecnology and development himself, he just want it to go the right way for everybody, just like Little Planets good futures, after all he's friends with a cute little genius fox that helps him in that department.

Sonic must be a South Korean 99%er. Angel Island is a Vietnamese Jungle, Knuckles learned his guerilla fighting skills in the great war, which was the vietnam war, Amy is from Hong Kong since she's into cities and stuff. Tails is chinese, because all chinese are good at math. Together they fight against Robotnik's communist/1%er society. They won't be fooled by his crap.

The ghosts could be animals that died in the capsule that robotnik caught them in. Sonic unwittingly released them causing them to pester him through the level, gathering power from the ancient pyramid as it gets darker and darker.

Casino Night Zone doesn't appear to be an Eggman made casino, whereas other places seem to be.

Maybe Spring Yard took inspiration from it, who knows!?

We aren't talking about anything, this is a tin hat conspiracy theory thread. It's just for laughs and/or interesting ideas behind some of the stranger elements of Sonic games, particularly the older games which weren't explained too much beyond instruction manuals.

I'm pretty sure at least Carnival Night is Eggman's doing; after all, could you see the Knuckles Clan building something like that, even if they did have teleporter technology?

Also, Sonic CD had a timeline split based off of how you got the good ending. If Sonic defeats all the generators, SA1 and so on take place; if he collects all the TIme Stones, Sonic disappears and years later the world gets flooded to prevent Eggman from taking it over, resulting in Blaze's world. There's also a third timeline split that fans hadn't anticipated but apparently counted for when the official timeline came out: Sonic saying "I'm outta here!" and getting a game over results in a timeline where Eggman wins and goes on to build the Death Egg out of Little Planet, leading to Sonic 2, 3, and Knuckles, even though fans expected it to fit in one of the other timelines. Sonic 4 is the CD-I game equivalent of the franchise, and non-canon.

Hmm, if he builds the death egg out of little planet, would that mean that the entirety of the Death Egg Zone is in the future? Everything could be so metal that all is beyond recognition, and by destroying the atmosphere he left the sky baren to show nothing but space. Sonic 4 is almost revisiting the concept. But if Sonic 4 is CD-I you say, then Sonic is too busy being so hungry that he could eat a motobug and Robotnik must be starting a chain of hotels up on little planet. It's cool though, Sonic will simply over power the circuit by plugging in one too many toasters.

I always thought Dr. Robotnik kidnapped Amy, and took over Little Planet to distract Sonic while he rebuilt the Deathegg for Sonic 3. I mean, what better way to distract your enemy than with a damsel (I use that term lightly) in distress, a robot version of himself, and a planet with magical time stones? Maybe that Eggman you fight in that game is actually from another time, so that the real one could build the Deathegg!

The duke was Yugi Naka, Eggman was Sega, Omega was one of the several frequently replaced developers in charge of quality control, and Rouge was the rebellion against soccer moms…
