Im not sure people know about this, but the new MAME supports Segasonic. Now we have both the original and the beta to compare, and man there are some differences.

Level arrangement, Voice clips (Now, Sonic CD or Segasonic was the first with voice clips?) and much more. Check it out for yourself.

Umm, this is old news, isn't it? I've known about this for a while, actually. The last time I tried playing the final version of SegaSonic, I couldn't get the emulator to run, properly, due to all this stupid "Command Prompt" stuff.

How well does MAME run on slower machines? I use a 500mhz primary so I'm not sure if I can play it well or not.

But other than that, pretty cool news. That's one game I haven't played yet, for sure. They shoulda included it in Gems Collection.

I posted this on Sonic CulT when the first full version of MAME that supported it was released.
Spinelsun got REALLY pissed at me, because even though I was the first to post about it, one of the previous WIP builds supported it too, and it was therefor old news.

Tweaker, MAME's performance on slow machines varies drastically. It's worth a try.

Ahahaha..... can't believe you remembered that. I had forgotten it.

But no I wasn't pissed at all really. Im just an ass :P

edit: and I think vangar ment that 0.105 is the first ver to run it properly without graphics glitches. (and even then it was really fixed in 0.104u7 I believe :P )

Oh well, I missed that topic. Nice to see full version is playable. I'll have to give it a shot when I have time. Damn college eating up all my time. Who wants to do my client/server architecture project for me?

Am I the only one that thinks that when Sonic is "balancing" the voice sounds like, "OHSHITOHSHIT!"

I remember it (partially) because I was considering weather or not to stay at the Sonic CulT, as it was literally going down weekly and I required multiple hands to count the times I'd reregistered (because head counting is for loosers).

That topic was indeed one of the events that made me go "okay, this place is almost completely out of positives. I'm going to S2B."

I ne'er reregistered...

...untill X-culT came around. I really liked the idea of it.

Then a week or two ago I reregistered again (?) and that's where we are today.

Thus is the latter half of the tale of Heran Bago and the Sonic CulT.

Wow. I don't even remember making that topic here.

I don't know if the newer mames run Sonic the Fighters well. I've never really kept up wth that emulator. Why don't you pick up the ROM from SonAR and try it out? =P

edit:

me said:

Dr. Eggman, copy cmd.exe to the same place as your mame.exe. open cmd.exe and type in "mame sonic" assuming you have the zip to the game in ../roms/, where the .. folder has mame.exe in it.
I still use this crazy ass solution to run DOS programs in Windows XP. Auroch's solution sounds potentially easier, but it involves more rocks.

SO IMPORTANT THAT IT IS IN CAPS:
YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE ANALOGE SENSETIVITY IN ORGER TO BEAT THE GAME.
Jesus, I don't spell THAT bad... That old topic is painfull to read. :disgust:

for those wondering, MAME doesn't run Sonic the Fighters at all (crashes with unimplented opcode). But older versions (of MAME) got in game, but the sharcs werent emulated so no 3D.
