(Forgive this newb for bringing up likely old news)

Ok, I'd been seeing rumors and mudslinging about a flaming skeleton in Sonic 2 Beta. Well, I did find a skeleton! It's not flaming...but it's a skeleton.

I've known ever since I read about the S2 Beta that it didn't include the animation for water splashing, that instead it had brown blobs or bubbles. Well, while playing in the HPZ, I noticed something about that "fake water splash" animation. So, I jumped into the water again, and paused it...a skeleton!

A skull is CLEARLY visible, and the rest, although somewhat pixelated, resembles the torso of a skeleton. I can't seem to identify the species of the skeleton though. Weird!

Dude, that actually freaks me out a little...and not just because Halloween is coming up soon O_o

It's just an ordinary dinobot with a wrong palette.

Pretty sure this has been reported before.

Apparently the dinobot's tiles overwrote the area where the game expected the splash graphic to be. Mmm... probably means that there wasn't always water in HPZ.

Even though it's a palette error... it still does make for a creepy skeleton-like graphic when applied. :)

That is a very interesting picture. Could anybody apply that pallette to a Dino Bot Sprite Sheet?

I've seen that before. That Dinobot only shows, because of the fact that the bubble graphics are messed up.

Cool, I like it when newbies post old junk, because I haven`t been here very long, so I get to see the stuff without being yelled at, `cause it`s the newbie who posted it, not me!

Let me explain. At the time of the beta there was no splash for Hidden Palace. They had the pallette ready, but no splash sprite. So, the Dinobot got the pallette,
makeing the Dinobot look like a skeleton.
