Accessing Shadow the Hedgehog files

    I need to research Shadow the Hedgehog (2005 game) for a project I'm doing, mostly the models and textures, does anyone know of a way to access them? They're all stored as ".one" files. I know someone released a decompiler or something of the sort a while back, but could someone on the research team here point me to where I might be able to find the resources of Shadow the Hedgehog? I don't want to bother all 300+ playthroughs just to study a single enemy or something, you'd understand... thanks in advance!

    If you just want to examine the enemy models and stuff, you could emulate the game in Dolphin and use a printscreen-style ripping program. I've heard good things about GameAssassin, though I've never tried it myself.

    As I've said, I haven't even finished one playthrough of the game, let alone all of them, and I'm not bothered to do so just to research the in-game assets.

    You can use Dolphin cheats to unlock all the levels.
    If you don't want to go that route, this program supposedly opens the .one files.

    MIDI-to-SMPS-conversions, mostly. Takin' requests, too.
    Not just supposedly, it does extract stuff from .ONE archives in Shadow the Hedgehog (among many others). From what I recall and read, though, the contents of .ONE files have a misleading file-extension. They're PRS-compressed files. To my knowledge, Nemesis' PRS decompression tool should still work for those. Textures are stored in TXD format, models in DFF format, using a variety of the Renderware engine (newer than the one used in Sonic Heroes but should still work with most Grand Theft Auto related tools).

    I've never done reverse-engineering before, so can you give me a rundown of what to do and where to find said downloads? Also, I tried to use the Watto-made program, it can't run properly.

    Why is it that I can't open that program? I try the .exe, and Command Prompt is just stuck looping a message

    I just obtained Shadow for myself: I'll see if I can't get anything to work.
    Also .dff files are a real bitch to find decent programs for. the best I could find was a Blender import plugin.

    It might help if you said WHICH message it's looping?
    That said, it might help to try to run the .bat-file in the program folder instead, which eases into the Java-version of the program.

    Member Total made a program to view and extract models for the GCN version, shth_one.exe The thread can be found here He never released the program though so you'd have to ask him for it.

    I might be able to modify my HeroesONE program for Shadow's ONE files, if they're similar enough to Heroes'.

    Seems that way. the existing .one unpacker I have says it's corrupt.
    although there is something cool I found looking inside my copy:

    it's 5 KB though so I'm not sure anything's in there.

    Soo... any luck? By the way, those are two separate programs that do the same thing or do they need each other?

    Having acquired a Shadow ONE file to look at, it's almost nothing like the Heroes ONE files. I don't think I'll be able to do much.

    Hmm... can't even extract texture files? If anyone can extract the texture files of Shadow the Hedgehog, is it possible to post them here for any future ref?

    If you just want textures, that's already something Dolphin can do.
    it's somewhere in the graphics options, I think.
    when I have it at my disposal I'll give a more definite answer.

    Edit: actually Main Memory what if it's just the difference between the Gamecube and PC .one files?

    Thanks for that, now HeroesONE should be compatible with Shadow's ONE files.
