    The only legal alternative for Android users that I'm aware of is the Amazon version. But then you are required to have their stupid app installed.

    For what it's worth, it always bugs me that they didn't add the rolling sound effect into the mobile version of the game. Ideally it would have been added when using the S2 spindash mode, but absent using the original SCD spindash mode. But having it is just so strange and difficult to get accustomed to.

    Actually there was a plain APK put up as part of a charity bundle some years back - if you bought that you'll have a clean version of the game you can install as a third-party source.

    Is the audio a little screwy in this version for anyone else? I can't really put my finger on it but the sound effects are kind of low quality and I'm not just talking about the jump sound or something like that because I know that was from the original version of the game. Was the remaster always like this? I don't remember the audio sounding this bad on the other versions of the CD remake. Maybe its just me.

    EDIT: Oh wait sorry about that. I see from earlier posts that this isn't just me and there are issues with the sound for other people too.

    Honestly I wish they added an option to replace the Sonic CD sound effects with those of Sonic 1 - 3K, including the actual drowning music as well instead of the odd noise they used in this one. The jump noise in Sonic CD always bugged me.

    I can hardly argue with this either. If you could just choose original mode or new mode, which would have all those sound and spindash changes to bring it more line with the other Classics, that would be great.

    The odds of that are low now, considering SEGA was happy to dump out this Forever downgrade.

    Honestly this game would have been perfect for additional features to bring it more in line with the classic, like maybe a better level select mode, an option to play the game through one particular time zone, checkpoints in time zones outside of the present, things like that. But seeing as how old this game is now I doubt that'll happen.

    Still it was a fine port that helped put Taxman on the map so it's legacy will live on.

    I'm still holding onto hope that there'll eventually be a console compilation with a few extras. I really want all the time zones available in Time Attack.

    Using the Mega Drive sounds when "Sonic 2 mode" is enabled would have been a nice touch but, eh.

    Personally, the only extra I would add is "& Knuckles" mode. Maybe Project Plus will fix this? :v:

    Still hoping for Taxman Jam, complete with the ability to play through Sonic 1, 2, and CD with all the extra content and updated sprites that were present in Mania :v:

    And a Drop Dash option. If we can toggle the spindash and peel-out through cheat settings, I want the Drop Dash in there too. I'm constantly trying to use it in S1/S2 at the moment (and would be in CD if the game worked...)

    They should honestly let us actually have all these types of options for saved games in general. I feel like if they did add this they would do what they did with the s3&k monitors / insta shield in the s1/s2 remakes and make those extra options restricted to the hidden level select mode with no saves instead of actually making it an option in the default menus. Sure it isn't how the original game was meant to be played but that's why its all optional. Even Mania sort of did this by making all of Sonic's unlockable moves restricted to non saved games. I don't understand the purpose of not letting us actually play the game with these extra game configuration options.

    Ha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who keeps trying to use the drop-dash in the other games. I try to use it in CD all the time! It feels like such a natural additional and would work well in the other classics.

    It would be nice if Sonic CD was brought up to the standard of the S1&2 remasters. I.e all the features and playable Knuckles (and Sonic with Tails assist).

    Would be such a waste if the mobiles remasters are never brought to consoles.

    Tried to play my restored purchase version on my Pixel 2 XL in the basement garage of my work as I do when I occasionally go in the office. Game would not get past the first frame of Sonic facing away from the camera at the title screen. The basement garage has no cell signal or WiFi reaching it (literally X's for signal), force closed it several times and it simply wouldn't get past that.

    So I think about it...There's no way, right? Why would the game be requiring a network check if radios are turned on? Well, I turned on airplane mode while in game as a test. BOOM. Title screen proceeded.

    I didn't pay for this. Please unjunk the product that I paid for when it released.

    I did the thing where you spend money to buy the game since I'm not on my iPhone anymore and switched to Android in October. I still get ads. Like, why? The point of paying the 2 dollars is to get rid of those.

    I've had the Actually Free™ version of CD on my Android phone from Amazon Underground for a long time now, so this release has no effect on me really.

    + - I still want that Sega Forever cassette, though.

    Latest update fixed the activation issues, but the sound is still staticy and too loud.

  19. Sorry to bump this thread, but I bought the Sega Forever versions of Sonic 1, Sonic CD and Sonic 2 last night on Android. I still own the original Android versions of Sonic 1, Sonic CD and Sonic 2, but these versions run too fast on my phone unless I change the screen settings in Android to 60 Hz instead of 120 Hz, which is inconvenient because I want to use 120 Hz mode for all other apps. Also, I have to enable full screen for these old versions in the display settings of my phone, otherwise the games look like 4:3 with borders.
    The Sega Forever versions run full screen and in 60 Hz mode even when my phone is set to the 120 Hz screen setting and full screen is not enabled for the games, so that's a plus for the Sega Forever versions.

    I have a question though, I have complete save files for the original Sonic 1, Sonic CD and Sonic 2 on Android. How can I use these save files on the Sega Forever versions? I wanted to copy the Sgame.bin files stored in the following directory:

    Sonic 1 -> Android\data\com.sega.sonic1\files
    Sonic 2 -> Android\data\com.sega.sonic2\files
    Sonic CD -> Android\data\com.sega.soniccd\files

    Unfortunately, I can't find a Sgame.bin file in the Sega Forever file directory, even when I played through the first zone of each game and a save slot exists in each game. Does anyone know where the save files are stored for the Sega Forever versions?
