Sonic XN: now with more cancelled.

Just going to repost what I posted at cult.

It didn't. Sonic XN (no longer Sonic Xtreme Next due to the original concept being gay) is still in development. What are the system requirements? Am I still using the same old engine? Will your system be able to run it at a constant 60 frames per second? Will it come any time this year?

The project is still using the C4 game engine. The minimum system requirements for C4 graphics side, is a GeForce 5200, or a Radeon 9500. The requirements for this game are more than likely going to be along the lines of a GeForce 6600 GT or a Radeon X800, and at least 512MB of RAM. The game more than likely isn't coming this year, but later on next year (think summer or winter).

Anyways, overview time.

Sonic XN is my somewhat fruitless continued effort at making a 3D Sonic game that would remind you of the original SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive games.

Simply put, the original story was scrapped, the original gameplay ideas were scrapped, and most of the game was scrapped. More or less for the better of the project.

So what will it look like? Will shit be reused from when it was some faggy Sonic fan game based off a title that was never released?

Well, all I have to say, is this is an in-engine screenshot, and this most definitely isn't going to be some gay sonic fan game based off some rejected game that was never released.

Sonic and Robotnik (or Eggman if you prefer) will be the only two major characters, and possibly Metal Sonic. Multiplayer is a possibility at this point, and who knows, maybe even mods.

Only one thing has remained left over from the original concept of Sonic Xtreme Next. This will be the most visually pleasing Sonic fan game for a long time.

tl;dr: Sonic XN is back, now with less gay, and more awesome.

Probably because the buzzbomber is pre-rendered.

Sonic's shoes are probably going to be replaced soon with his classic shoes (it's been like a year since I've even touched the model.)
