I think I want to see gameplay before I go crazy or point out flaws, but it did seem very "speed" oriented. We'll see, it's possible they just made it look like that to arouse the attention of fans who feel as if Sonic has been "slowed down" by silly gimmicks like the Werehog and treasure hunting.

Pretty much this. I'm happy there's finally something that will probably be critically acclaimed (If it's actually good looking, that is) and different than the usual stupid and gritty Sonic games as of late. It's gonna be nice to be able to play a new Sonic game with no story, all 2D levels, and nice, classic, music and themes throughout the game.

They better actually study what made the old 2d games good or this is just gonna be like sonic rush or something, where the perspective doesn't keep the game from being a trainwreck.

Well, that's why I expressed my own concern—the trailer seems to flaunt "speed" as the appeal of this new game, when the originals had so many more factors that made them so enjoyable. Speed is important, but it's hardly the primary factor that made classic Sonic games as great as they were.
