First off, thank you everyone for being so patient while I was sorting out the Dreamcast Promotion Disk and SEGA Japanese VHS tapes. As a token of my appreciation, I made certain this sample disc got sorted out much sooner than expected.

Download Clockwork Knight: Pepperouchau's Adventure volume 1 Sample (J) BIN

If anyone can upload this onto a better server for everyone to download from, that would be greatly appreciated.

This scanned article was included when the sample disc got shipped out to me.

Clockwork Knight was one of those games I really enjoyed playing as a kid because the characters and stages were so out there. I'm glad I was able to pick this sample disc up. There doesn't seem to be many places (if any) where you can download this. I've had a good look around. In any case, it's another one to check off on Sega Retro's [Hit List]. As always, enjoy!

Anything stand out that wasn't in the full game product?

As one of the earliest Saturn games, Clockwork Knight might have some juicy stuff inside. Maybe it's possible to prove Clockwork Knight 2 was meant to be part of the same release, similar to the whole Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles thing.

I remember a story about it having some backgrounds drastically overhauled mid-way through development but that might have just been a comment about Clockwork Knight 2. I don't know enough about the original release - I'd have to look it up.

Cool of you for doing this! Thank you. My memories of Clockwork Knight are pretty hazy but my best friend of the time had the game on the Saturn and we played the hell out of it. Damn fine game if a little early in the Saturn days. I'd love to see a sequel one day.

A friend just burned and played this, he says the entire game is on the disk with no visible differences. What makes this a sampler, exactly?

He's provided a permanent mirror regardless: http://files.clockwo...r-orengefox.rar

I'd guess it was given to stores for play on kiosks before the game was officially released. Can't imagine any other situation where it would make sense for Sega to be giving away the full game as a "sample".

...I thought that was a known fact already? I remember reading about it before the game was released.

Is it a known fact, or is it truthiness? That's one of those things I hear repeated often, but never with citation. Where does that claim come from?
