Sonic Heroes "Alpha" ADX files?

Hi guys. Sorry for making a whole topic out of this, but there's something that has been bothering me a lot these past few days and no one that I asked seems to know anything so I pretty much have no choice but to post here in hopes someone here will know.

I know there are numerous Sonic Heroes prototypes that have been found and dumped over the years. There's the Xbox/Gamecube E3 prototypes and the 10.8/11.18 prototypes. It's well-known that they have beta music files that have been found and documented long ago. So far, so good.

But then there's this. The 10.8 proto music link is not the one that bothers me, it's the "early Xbox proto" one. Which early Xbox proto is that anyway? A lot of the songs in that archive I can't find anywhere in any currently known and dumped prototypes, as they have songs like Egg Fleet and Final Fortress and what have you that clearly sound very different to any other prototype, and the final. As far as I'm aware, the only known Xbox prototype we know about is the E3 one, but it only has beta songs of Sea Gate, Seaside Hill and Rail Canyon unless I didn't look at it carefully enough (I made sure I did). So I have to ask: where did these songs come from?

To make things even more confusing and frustrating, there's this Sonic Cult forum thread I found dating all the way back to when Sonic Heroes was just released, and it seems that it already had these "alpha" ADX files up for grabs by that time. None of the links work anymore though, so I have no way to know if these "alpha" tracks are legit and match up to what's found in Retro's "early Xbox proto" archive.

So what I'm getting at is: if you somehow have a clue where these "alpha" ADX files came from (if it really is an "early Xbox proto," which one?), or at the very least happened to be able to download them at the time and preserve them on your hard drive to this day: please please share them. I like to keep nice and clean ADXs of any and all Sonic songs, and I just can't stand the thought that there were beta versions of these songs right under our noses that we all failed to notice and question their existence.

I probably have them somewhere, given they were released on the CulT. I can also contact grap3... actually I haven't heard from him in forever...

That would be great. I never thought that anyone from that thread would still be around here in 2017. I want to preserve these ADXs. It's just a shame that we have no clue what super secret elusive Heroes build they came from. I can only assume they are leaks of some sort.

  5. I hazily remember the backstory here.

Allegedly, someone found the aforementioned Heroes proto but didn't want to share it publicly. However, they did put the disc contents in a place accessible by some kind of file sharing program, and someone else made off with only the ADX files before being noticed.

    Here's the three I have.

Wish I had more, it's cool to play these in a seamless loop.

Awesome, thanks a lot. The Chaotix one doesn't sound all that different, but these are great.

I'm still on the lookout for more though, I encourage anyone who has more to add on to this topic! I hope we'll get to the bottom of this super-secret Heroes alpha one day.

Sorry, double post, but one thing I found out about these ADX files is that if you check the Ignore Looping option on the vgmstream component for foobar2000, you'll find that some of the tracks actually have proper endings just like the game's OST. Some tracks simply fade out on their own accord, though... just like some do in the soundtrack.

I have proof. Here's Rail Canyon from the E3 demo, Power Plant from ICEknight's pack, and on a totally unrelated note, a full instrumental of Un-Gravitify from Zero Gravity. It loops in-game, but turns out to be a full song when you disable looping. Imagine that.

This is why I want all alpha tracks of Heroes in ADX specifically. I can then convert them all into WAVs with the endings.

Solly, her mother (?) was invoved with the games journalism biz in France. Pachuka & someone else snuck them off via a 1kb/s download.

That's pretty cool! Also I think I found a person on that thread named Overlord. If that happened to be you, do you mind me asking if you still have them in ADX? Sorry, I've been asking numerous people at this point and none of them have any idea.

Not her mother, it was another member on the French forum who was a gaming journalist.
    But she was hacked IIRC.

The other one, basically whatever those ADX files were on that thread. I can get the ADXs from the 10.8 proto myself easily.

Please don't make it so I'm the only source of all prototype ADX files on the internet =P

Thank you so much. This is way more than I hoped. You are credit to team.

I converted all the ADX files to WAV here with the endings. A lot of these tracks really do have proper endings just like the final OST release, though some still cut off/fade out on their own at a certain point. Still. Who knew?

I really wish we find this mysterious Heroes alpha and uncover all its secrets one day.

EDIT: Okay I'm stupid, just now I realize there were no other parts of Mystic Mansion up for download on that thread. Forget what I said.

The sad thing is, this is probably true :v:

Windii - no problem, it's of benefit these get spread around anyway simply so we AREN'T at risk of losing anything. The original source for these is long gone, after all.

    Thanks for uploading them!

Hm... I guess the "SNG_TBSFA4" ADX I had didn't come from the prototype but from the final version instead.

EDIT: Is there a place where to get more common ADXs? I think I'm still missing a few from the final version.
