I didn't know where else to put this, so if there's a topic for this kind of stuff, I apologize. Anyway, Kmart's running a little deal, where if you buy a Sonic game, you get a Sonic figure for free, or $5.99 for the figure itself. They stand about 3" inches or so, I think? They look like the figures that come with the All-Stars Racing cars. Here's a pic for reference:

My store had Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Shadow. The back of the box shows Amy, that clear blue Sonic, Silver, Metal Sonic, and the Werehog, but I didn't see any of those ones. I found them on a display in electronics that had Sonic Unleashed and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on it for $19.99. Just thought I'd pass this little tidbit along.

Kmart is selling Jazwares figures now?

YES! There is a KMart within walking distance from me. I will definitely be taking advantage of this.

  6. I don't think I've even seen a K-Mart before. I guess they're not in Canada. Dang, I want those figures.

Does anyone know how long this deal is supposed to last? Because I was thinking about stopping by there today and picking up a copy of Sonic Colors.

KMart closed like 90% of their stores a few years back. There was like five in walking distance of me and now there are none :(

We have like 2 K-marts here, but there's no games I really need, and I've outgrown toys. :v:

  10. We ordered a pool table from K-Mart once. Customer service was HORRIBLE, and we ended up waiting like 3+ hours for them to BRING IT OUT OF STORAGE. My dad was so pissed off we just told them we weren't buying it and left.

Yeah, we have never gone back.

Ah, so Kmarts are outdated everywhere, it seems.

Kmart has possibly the worst game selection ever, at least concerning the ones I've been to. Disney games pile the shelves, while there are still aisles stocked with PlayStation2 and Xbox games. Last time I went to one (several weeks ago), the Wii game selection was pretty poor, with the only good games being a few good Mario games on the shelves. You'd swear this company had never heard of a bargain bin -- TBH, I'm surprised these stores didn't all close out sooner.

I appreciate the effort they're making, though, but are there many Sonic games worth buying nowadays? Colors is the only one that comes to mind (all the others I don't like simply because of the controls).

That was my reaction as well when I passed one a few weeks ago. The one by me was kind of like a time capsule, they hadn't renovated it since I was a kid. I was bummed out though because it didn't smell the same as I remember. I find that mixture of new toys, popcorn, and hot dogs very nostalgic.

  14. I like Kmart. They run great deals. Like today I am going to stop in, pick up Golden Sun for DS along with DQIX. DQIX is half off and sells for 14.99 with the purchase of Golden Sun. Then for buying the two games, you get a total of 25 dollars in gaming coupons to be used on a future purchase. That's not bad at all.

They're trying to be relevant, but yeah in the past I had no reason to enter.

The gaming coupons are sweet. I got Sonic Unleashed and the figure for under four bucks, with my $20 coupon.

K-Marts are still very popular here in Australia. I was very surprised to learn that they don't actually have very much prominence in America. The crappy service appears to come worldwide too, it seems.

Incidentally, are we really so interested in K-Mart as to go off topic from literally the first post?

They used to be everywhere here too. They went bankrupt however and were bought by Sears. I was under the impression that all locations were closed or converted into Sears stores. I suppose everyone else was under similar impressions as well.

The one closest to my house always smells like urine and sadness. If it's still open, I'm going to see if this deal is still on near me. I never did get a Tails when they were making action figures to go with Sonic Adventure.

Guess I'm going to need to look at the Internet for a Robotnik.

  19. I lol'd so hard XD

There used to be a K-Mart on Hempstead Turnpike (near my block down Jerusalem Avenue) YEARS ago, and the building was also being shared with Borders Books and Office Max. Office Max is the only store still in that building. When K-Mart dissapeared, Home Depot and either Walmart/Target or Lowes (I think) were competing for that property, but it got out of hand to the point where the town was like "fuck you all" and told the companies that it wasn't for sale (or something like that).

Now the only K-Mart on long island is in Suffolk County, but I seem to remember one in Farmingdale near route 110, not sure though, havent been down that area in a while.

  20. Actually, Kmart filed for bankruptcy, regrouped, and bought Sears in 2004.
