With the recent purchases of Championship Kendou, C_So! and Champion Boxing, I now have a complete set of first generation Sega MyCards
I've still got 4 not complete in box, but I have every card.
I've find a few variations too, which are interesting, like these:
And these Bank Panic's appear to be the same from the front but are different from behind

That's quite a nice collection, congrats on it's completion. It makes me wish I had the patience (and funds) to attempt a complete collection for a console, any advice or tips on where to look? (Aside from the usual eBay).

Congrats on the completion! Have you scanned them for Sega Retro yet? I doubt we'll get a better chance than your set for HQ scans.

I think 90% of these were off ebay. I think I might have sourced a couple from an online games store or two. I forget which ones - they weren't high profile like play-asia, the websites was very amateurish and a bit sus but I took a punt and it payed off. That was quite a few years back though.
It's on the to do list OL.

Eggfan, you're gonna make me break down and buy you a nice scanner.

I have a great scanner available, but I'm not sure he could trust me with all those gamecards. Or Australia post.
If he ever comes down to Victoria though, I'm probably available.

What's wrong with my scanner? I did all those Sega Sport inserts just recently and they were fine, weren't they?

There's a bit of voodoo that has to be done to get them to correctly be 300dpi with your scanner, Eggfan, even though they technically are high-resolution enough to be 300dpi. It keeps trying to set shit at 96dpi, so I have to bust out the calculator and Photoshop.
Also there'd be less moire with a higher tdpi scanner. :V

Have I got some settings wrong, or it's just something inherently wrong with the scanner?

I'm honestly not sure, given that I have no idea what your scanner is.
I will say that usual protocol is to scan at 600dpi and then resample down to 300dpi using Photoshop or a professional equivelant.

You guys are seriously making me wish my 600dpi scanner wasn't actually a Canon Multifunction center... and that it wasn't my father that owned it. I wouldn't trust Australia Post with a multi-kilogram MFC either.

I've got an Epson Perfection V33. I'll provide 600 dpi raw scans and see if that helps
