have I mentioned that I love you

For real though, this is great. My Dreamcast isn't set up to connect to the internet at this point (and I have like two working GD-ROMs left, neither of which are SA1 or 2 :argh: ), but if it was I'd totally use this.

Il pass that on to the Team :D

would totally if possible get a Dreampi, if you build it yourself it only like 40 bucks and works with 17 (soon to be 18) games to play online.

This also in theory works on emulators. If you save online file in sa1 and hope onto a bba supported browser you could participate the rankings that way.

The site is a little broken right now as the latest update kinda blew it up lol

Hey, I remember that. It was an alternate site that was fully open to PC users and served as advertisement for the game. There was also one for SA2, which made heavy use of Flash and had extra content such as wallpapers, a screensaver and a timeline of Sonic games. I have an archive of said site if anyone wants it.

I have an archived copy of Sonic Team's own Japanese SA2 message board, taken from the day before its scheduled shutdown in 2008, if anyone still wants that. In contrast to the Japanese side, which accumulated only 84 pages of topics across its entire seven-year history, the English side ran to over 2200 pages with a lot more spam content, and only the most recent 100 pages were accessible at any given time, so I didn't bother trying to archive that.

You two should upload those to the wiki.

Also, Blue Spikball, that sounds like the SA2: Battle website you have there, yes? Though I will admit I don't remember a regular SA2 website unless they just retooled it for Battle.

You wouldn't have happened to save any one other websites from that era, have you?

Did that site happen to feature a small Flash animation of Tails in his mech, done in Sonic Advance style?

Sure, where in the wiki would I be uploading it to?

No, it was about SA2, and didn't have any Advance style animations. However, I don't think I ever visited the SA2B site, so if it's a retooled version of the archive I have, I don't know.
Here are screens showing what it looks like.

I don't think so. I may have a saved a few official pages, but not whole websites, other than this one. Dunno if these would be of any interest.

Are you talking about the SA1 site or the SA2 site? I'm assuming the former. Either way, the latter did have some beta screens as well.

Sonic Adventure 2. Not exactly sure where to put it on the page right now though.

Yeah, the Battle website seems to be a retooled version. It had a bunch more orange, different art in places, and I believe commercials to watch.

    They may be of interest.

Is that 1-player screen making an Egg joke with Dr. Robotnik? I don't think it quite works with that name, guys. :v:

I think it was Sonic team.com that had the animation. They also had one of Eggman.

Here's the archive of the SA2 Flash site. Open sonic2.htm to view it.
I also have some of the downloads that were offered on it (wallpapers, screensavers, videos) if anyone wants them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the wiki was ever used to store site archives? Perhaps Scarred Sun or some admin would be interested in hosting it on the Sonic Retro servers like they did with the Dreamcast sites, though?

Hang on, I'll dig through old burned discs and see what I have.

Wow, fantastic job! Btw, that Nights Chao offered on the Black Market isn't one of the original Black Market downloads from the official website, right? Are there any plans to restore the original Chao downloads, or they're lost (outside of recreating them from scratch)?

Another thing, I noticed that clicking on Leaderboards on the redesigned Dreampipe site takes you to Media instead.
