Sonic 4: Episode 1 (1:1 rendering hack?) Make a crappy game run more efficiently

Alright, so we're all aware that Sonic 4: Episode 2 got a patch sometime ago that enabled 1:1 rendering so it would play more efficiently at lower resolutions and look better at resolutions higher then 720p. I find it sad that Episode Metal can play at a constant 60 fps now and yet Episode 1 still struggles to even play at 40 fps most of the time at an even lower resolution than Episode Metal because of downscaling. No patch has been made for Episode 1 to accommodate the 1:1 rendering and that bothers me.

I know Episode 1 is considered to be crappy as is, but I'd at least like it to play better on my crappy laptop after spending those $10 on the steam version. The solution of "getting a better computer" is out of the question right now, so I'm asking if someone knows how to modify Episode 1 to do what was done to Episode 2's coding to help "patch" Episode 1 or at least released the modified code so this is issue can be over and done with.

You do realise they are two different engines, right?

Well, in any case, if someone is still hacking Sonic 4 E1 then it is possible to make that tool. I do believe someone has already done forcing AA and Graphical HD hacks into the Steam version, so I don't see why not.

In any case though, you could go to the topic and see Sonic 4 Topic

But they aren't different engines bro. It's just an updated version of the same one.

99% sure the same guy who did the EP2 one did it for EP1 as well though.

Crap :v:
:argh: Argh damn you Ken Balough and you saying it's a different engine. Truly Sonic 4 rehashed into something improved and labeled as new and saying we learned our leason as you imaged it. Dimps and Sonic Team. What bloody creativity they have... not

I apologize to the original poster for me being clueless

It's funny how the people who make Battlefield 3, Sonic the Hedgehog and other games had people who pioneered the game, but if it's fans asking for something better or their ideas are totally superior, then oh no they don't give a crap.

I mean, it's depressing really. 75% of Sonic Fans are skilled at art, music, gaming, creating fan-games, hacking, coding, website making etc while the 25% are full of other recolor, stealing artwork, crappy engines, crappy remixes and the later trolls and amy fan-girls OH No you didn't.

Ken was both right and wrong. You can compare Episode 1 and Episode 2's engine changes to the changes done in Unreal Engine between Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Basically a graphical overhaul of the same engine.
