I'll vouch for LocalH's first variation as well. The second one's "the", despite it's different color, could actually trick people into thinking it says "Themobius". Yes, there are people like that out there. :P Size and proximity is important like that.
While I agree the first one looks better than the 2nd, there's still this niggling feeling that the position it's in doesn't look quite right - almost as though there's supposed to be something there to the left of "THE"; or, maybe move Mobius slightly to the left a bit so it doesn't feel too 'squashed' to the right?
As I was looking at it, I like the original positioning much better. It looks like the proportions are based on the Golden Ratio, which I didn't notice at first.
Oooh, I was hoping someone would notice that :P If you take a Golden Spiral, and place it above the logo, you'll see that the spiral ends on the center of the words "The, Mobius and Engine", making a really nice startup point to start "reading" the logo. Both the Mobius and Engine words have their own importance here, however while mobius is smaller, it has color. Making it different enough while comparing it to the Engine part of the logo, which I must say its also important. Edit; typo.
I'm narrowing things down to the bottom right-most logo in Elratauru's selection, and LocalH's variant above. Expect a vote momentarily. EDIT: Vote's up.

Well everyone, looks like LocalH's modifications ended up making the cut! His variation on the logo one by a close 10 - 13.
Good to hear. I guess I'm gonna start using a few signatures on forums and stuff with the selected logo :v: btw, Gen I'd recommend taking that image you have on your signature and making its width 475px, because that way It would fit the threads below exactly. Oh also, Gen or Local, please post the current PSD source, maybe adding the file on the engine repository so we can download it freely.
