Hi everybody,

I have nothing much to say about, topic description says it all. The only thing is that I just would like to recommend it specially to people who are intending to make a hack of the same kind of Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Master Edition, with extremely hard levels. Perhaps it would be a good idea to join both works in a single hack. So, this post is also for suggesting everybody who is working in those kind of projects to take a look at this.

For the moment there are two versions. Levels of the first one are hard, but most of them are nothing compared to the new ones coming from the second version. So, it would be better to start with the first version, called Blue Nightmare and if you see you're good enough on it you might play the second version, Red Nightmare. I uploaded a Blue Nightmare gameplay to Youtube, so you will be able to learn some tricks to complete them correctly and having a perfect bonus, however, there are some levels on Blue Nightmare version where you can't get a continue because there are less than 50 rings; this doesn't happen on Red Nightmare. There is also on my channel the 7th Super Emerald stage of Red Nightmare, but not the others. The rest of the new levels are expected to be solved with your own ingenuity.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Blue Nightmare (longplay)

First release, recommended for "beginners":

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Blue Nightmare

Harder and improved version, with 5 (or perhaps 7, who knows...) new levels:

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Red Nightmare

Enjoy! More coming soon.

A few things,

First, you should consider posting and displaying Screenshots/Videos of what this does compared to the original game you have modified here. Screenshots can give us some enlightenment on what this has to offer for all mods and hacks that are out there. It isn't exactly a cake-walk, but it will make things easier for us, the users, to know whether we want to download this or not. Videos, on the other hand can give us an idea of what the gameplay is like compared to the original. I watched that video, and you using Super Sonic, kinda gives away the idea that this is not as hard as you claim it to be. I would appreciate that you try using a clean game without super sonic, that way people know how hard the game can be just before they obtain all the Emeralds.

Second, stylize your post. I know this is your first post as a Trial Member, and coming from the same group as you has little to no impression of my knowledge, but when it comes to releasing something, It is best to show nice detailed posts with formatting, links, pictures, videos, and quick info on what is different from the original game. Such as, features the game has to offer, changes in specific sectors of the game itself.

An Example:

Quote

Features
  • New Special Stage maps for Begginners and Veterans.
  • New Super Special Stages for Second Transformations.

That way, people can get an idea what they are about to get themselves into, as of right now. I feel like I'm downloading Blue Sphere all over again for Sonic 1 Lock on, and deciding between if this changes the map layout or adds more traps...

So if you get a chance, come back, edit your post, and help us out a bit. We know that this now does Special Stages, but you could give us a preview of the Special Stages, or a map layout. Anyway, good work on the new and hard Special Stages for Sonic 3, they are a bit confusing I might add, but I guess it takes time to figure out on how to solve them. After all, they are mainly suppose to be like Puzzles.

I'll have to test around a bit to figure out the new stages, but I am having a hard to figuring out the map-path.

Because we didn't hate the S3K special stages enough! This looks very difficult. :\

This indeed looks difficult, reminds me of when Varion Icaria had that Blue Spheres contest a few years ago for his S3K hack and people made very difficult Special Stages, to get a demo. :v: Though it would be best if this was part of a complete difficult hack, like Master Edition. I think you should make the original levels difficult as well, since it'll balance out the gameplay. :)

I like this; I mastered the original special stages. Nice to have a challenge.
Edit: Which is what I would say if Zippyshare provided a download. Instead the download button is a redirect to the same page, like the subway station in Matrix Revolutions.

This is something I would waste no time tackling cause I'm a master at special stages. I am a conventional person when it comes to originality and fairness, but your S3K special stage hacks are worth trying!
