Has anyone else noticed that that Greg Martin 8bit Sonic 2 art has wasp badniks despite none being in that game? Or, what's more, those helmeted birds which don't show up anywhere at all (except maybe Tails Adventures)?

We've seen this early version of the Sonic/Amy key art before, but he has a good story to go with it.

OK, you've all been DM'ing me and I can't wait.. it's here!!! Back in 1993 I was on a jet to visit Sega Japan…I arrived late afternoon and the following day got a taxi to the Sega Japan offices.
I got to catch up with some of the producers there and visited the Development studios and the coin-op guys 😊
As I was wandering around looking at 8-bit Sonic Chaos and other Megadrive/Mega CD projects I spotted a drawing of Sonic and Amy on a wall by an artist working away diligently.

His name was Kazuyuki Hoshino.
As I didn't speak Japanese I pointed to the picture on the wall by his head and gave him a thumbs up in approval 😊

I carried on wandering around and a few minutes later he came up to me and gave me the picture as a gift and signed it.

This was just amazing, Hoshino-san had joined Sega that year and had drawn the image that came to symbolise Sonic and Amy for Sonic CD, and Sonic CD would go on to be a key part of Sonic history and one of THE best Sonic games made.
I bought it home, VERY carefully and got it framed.
I have had it out on display for short periods and really enjoyed it, now it's time for others to enjoy it.
Sooo based on the level of interest on buying it I'll decide if to sell it here, or Ebay or an auction etc.
So if you'd interested DM me with your best price and I'll make a decision in the next 24 hours if to sell it here or look at other options….HURRY if of interest you need to let me know in the next 24 HOURS!!

And more Fang concept art: https://www.instagra.../p/By5JVySHxzY/

These were in an old issue of Famicom Tsushin (issue number unknown) before the game's release.
