There's a countdown site for Persona 5 that's counting down to May 5th right now. Seems likely that they'll announce the release date then, at least for Japan. That or they'll announce another delay.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKZtJmt85ns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4GDo3mvSZY Release date is September 15th, 2016 in Japan. Also there'll be a one episode prologue anime in September.
God, this looks like the coolest-looking game to ever grace binary. Those camera angles, that art direction, that silky-smooth 60 FPS... I preordered the original P4 when that came out, so I'm hoping they'll have the crazy box set (with the soundtrack!) for the US release as well. Also, it's been mentioned that it's apparently coming out in Japan the same month as FFXV. Atlus don't fear no Square Enix. :P
If anything, it seems the other way around, if one of SE's recent surveys is to be interpreted that way. :^P Personally, though, this seems alright, but me, I'm still waiting for a translation of the Android version of SMT1 (and 2 :v: ), but, then, I'm weird like that. :v
Details on the US release of Persona 5. February 14th, 2017, with a steelbook launch edition and a premium edition on PS4. Also new footage will be shown at E3.
Man, I seriously need to re-evaluate the games I'm actually gonna be playing for the rest of the year, because pretty much everything has slipped into 2017.
Huge news: Persona 5 will be released in Europe on February 14th, 2017. The same day as in the US! The steelbook and premium editions will also be sold here.
Day and date with the US version is pretty awesome. Fantastic for European fans of this series. Kudos to Deep Silver!
The Persona 5 prologue anime special will be streamed on Crunchyroll tomorrow: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/09/02/crunchyroll-to-simulcast-persona5-the-animation-the-day-breakers-
Well, it's out now in japan, time to bury our heads in the sand for 5 months =( Unless you know, you know Japanese or are so hardcore you'll play it without know what's going on.
So Persona 5 has some interesting costume-and-battle-music DLC going for it in Japan; so far, seems to be DLC based on Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 3, Persona 4 and Shin Megami Tensei: if… (what you could call Persona 0, basically). Further data on the disc reveals there's also DLC for Persona 1, Catherine, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha and Shin Megami Tensei IV hidden but not yet unlockable by normal means. Most of the music seems to be straight from the original games, but the SMT: if… track is a hard-rockin' remix of the PSX-version-exclusive "Nemesis" (later also used for the Amala Network Battle theme in SMT3 Nocturne), and it is lovely.
English voice cast for Persona 5 announced: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/19/persona-5-english-voice-cast-revealed-2 Smash Bros. 4 announcer as the protagonist is perfect casting. EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHuLGh9se8Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCNwFlG0yDw
Delayed to April 4th in the west. To make up for the delay, there will be free DLC that lets you have Japanese voices.
Well that kinda makes the "take your heart" pseudo Valentines day special edition look a bit wonky in it's branding. Not happy, I couldn't give a rats butt about Japanese audio, I hope it's not being delayed for that, if it's being delayed for that and it's also DLC, someone needs a punch. Release the main game first and they pump out that JP audio in April for the people that just like the sound of Japanese, but can't be bothered to learn it properly. I'm grouchy, I booked a week of work for this >=T
Don't know if this was said before, but Persona 5 has a Steelbook Launch Edition (In the US at least): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GKHJPG6/
