Basically, it takes the models of the characters from the Dreamcast version of SA1 and puts them neatly into SADX without causing any issues (hopefully!). It's still a work in progress, but it's complete and stable enough to be released finally. I hope it's enjoyable! Things you need Latest version of the mod loader SA1_Chars Download! Stuff to know If you're using this mod in conjunction with the sadx-dc-lighting by Morph, be sure you have the latest version of that mod as it makes use of the API available in the latest release. Also be sure to report any bugs you find here, on my Twitter, on the GitHub repo, or over in the #x-hax IRC. And last but not least, big thank you to SonicFreak94 (various code stuff), MainMemory (tools, help with code), PkR (all things DC), Onsolight (bug testing), and my pal Nitro for the trailer he made.
So SEGA lets this game rot for about 12 years or so, but you guys go ahead and fix everything in about a year. That's amazing. It looks just like the original now!
This combined with the Super Sonic mod and SADX Tweaker to change Super Sonic's air acceleration back to Sonic's air acceleration = Everything I wanted from the end game of Sonic Adventure 1. Can't thank you enough for this, my 6 year old self from 1998 is ecstatic. Now to nag in the SADX hacking topic about a way to stop Open Your Heart playing every time you turn super. :specialed:
Sorry the Mania hype is dampening this but this really is an awesome feat you did. I'll spread the word about it tomorrow when the Mania hype has died down alittle.
Ah, that's the Sonic Adventure I remember from my youth! Amazing you've managed to mod in all the original character models - I still remember when getting new models working correctly in the cutscenes was pretty much considered an impossible dream, so major kudos for making it actually happen! = ) Along with the LANTERN and Dreamcast Levels mods, this is a great step in recreating the authentic DC Sonic Adventure experience on PC - with all three combined I think visually it's as close as it can get now, short of finding a way to replicate the DC's layering techniques.
I initially didn't want to post in here because I thought it would be kinda pointless and maybe seen as spam, but thank you thank you thank you thank you! I don't really have any feedback, I haven't noticed any issues, but this is just so great!
