Searching for "Saturn font" will only give me replicas of the main logo fonts, but not this one. Even if no replicas were ever made, is it possible that Sega just used another commercial font for this? Edit: I can do a rip of all the letters if someone can vectorize it.
You could always make your own based on what letters you have: http://fontstruct.com/ It's what I did to recreate the Mega64 font.
Rip all the letters and I will try to recreate them in FontStruct if I will find time for this. I don't guarantee that I will do it, but I will try to. Edit: What I've done so far from the pic you shown here.
Here's the font table. 16x16 per character, 192 characters (minus 3). The characters are in ISO/IEC 8859-1 order. Specifically, they are characters 32 to 127 and 160 to 255. I extracted this from gfx ram so they are all 16x16 here, but when displayed, the characters are variable width - the first row of all-empty pixels determine the width, though this should be evident from the screenshot above. http://evilboris.sonic-cult.net/!trash/satfont.png If it helps any, here's the raw tile file from the gfx ram: http://evilboris.sonic-cult.net/!trash/satfont.raw
I looked through a database and found no match, but this does not surprise me because BIOS fonts are usually custom made. I remember when Alice made me a bitchin' awesome custom font. Bitchin awesome custom font by Alice.
Thank you. I used your ripped sheet and here's your manually-converted Sega Saturn BIOS font: http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/...y_of_the_saturn If you don't have an account on this site and don't want to make one, here's an alternative download link: https://www.box.net/shared/hn0sctp15n It doesn't have all the Extended Latin charset, but you gotta understand... my hand and eyes hurt more than after a fap fest :P
And I went through all the trouble of extracting the characters from ram so the accentuated characters can be added... Thanks though. I'll check how this fontstruct thing works so I can add those myself. edit: hell, you have to manually draw every pixel? Fuck this shit... Isn't there some font creator to which you can import bitmaps?
