May I ask how?
It kinda looks like you just moved the flat grass art up one pixel width at a time to get the slope grass art, so it looks kinda distorted. I used to do this all the time. Still it's looking good so far, though the way you did the shading under the grass looks a little out of place to me. (everything else on the shot looks like it's using a limited palette.)
Thinking about restarting my Sonic X-Treme remake. So I made this: Hopefully, you know where it's from. It's my first stab at Model Editing. ^_^

He follows you. Or he will, anyway. Basically, I was unhappy with the way TFH handled its partner AI so I tore it out and I'm rebuilding it from the ground up. Getting the partner AI to stand on certain (usually non-solid) objects is something I've had problems with in the past because of how Multimedia Fusion handles collisions with object groups and stuff.
Got bored of re-writing partner AI, decided to take a stab at re-doing Amy's shop menu. For reference, this is what it used to look like. In the new one, the small window will expand a bit, but not to anything crazy like that.

A little pick on the upcoming Sonic Attitude for PC. (click on the image for a high quality, 720p version) Since SAGE 2009 is just around the corner, I'm restlessly working on the PC version of Sonic Attitude. Instead of a port from the DS version, I found more interesting to do a completly remake of the game. The screenshot shows some of the shaders I'm currently working on. It's just a WIP, but I hope to finish the demo in time for this years SAGE, and realese both the DS and PC demo at the same time.
Fuck it... Hazel Hills...shows mac version, same level layout, pretty new graphics. Crystal Caverns new graphics...tell me if you don't like anything and Ill change it. Special Stage...I thought I'd go Tripple Trouble Style. You get warped to the same stage each time, only you must search the stage for all 7 emeralds. It's like a maze. Mode challenges, Beat these to unlock shit. Like knuckles and extra levels and shit. (don't steal or I'll kill you) Desert levels going to stay pretty much the same...Im working on a city level, and might scrap the mystic cave style level, not sure. All things are mostly done so all I have left to do is graphics untill a solid release is ready. Fuck anyone who asks for a demo, Ill get one out when I feel like it. EDIT:Fuck it more, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQU8XItczP8 < GHZ backwards mode for your viewing pleasure
Wow, that's looking amazing so far. Crystal caverns looks really good this way too. Hazel hill's new art is also awesome looking. Those challenges look fun as well. Keep up the awesome work!

Do the emeralds appear in the maze one by one each new time you enter, or are they all present everytime time, making things progressively harder as you collect them?

Do the emeralds appear in the maze one by one each new time you enter, or are they all present everytime time, making things progressively harder as you collect them?
basically, they are all present. There are four types of barriors in the level as well, a bubble, fire, electric, and emerald barrior. The element barriors can only be passed if you have that certain shield on. The emerald barriors can only be passed if you have a certain amount of emeralds. So yes, it progressivly gets harder. White holes begin to appear as your time nears 0, making it look kind of like the special stage is collapsing.
OMG! Hez, Sonic Classic is looking awesome! Every of your screens are looking gorgeous! Just a question: It is using a particular engine?
Also, I see you've got Mac and Windows shots there - if it's cross platform, is a Linux port possible?
