Okay, I'm trying to make a bunch of Sonic remixes in Sonic Generations' classic remixes' style, but I don't have synths that sound like the ones used in them.
I'm especially looking for a bass like the one in Green Hill, as well as the snare.
If you know of a soundfont or vst that has something like Generations' synths, please, share them here!

There's an entire YouTube channel with Generations-style remixes of classic songs which have already made - which I've been thoroughly enjoying :):

The white worlds music seems to be mostly composed of Strings(violins) and Aerophones (Trumpets, Flutes, etc).

Grawler, those mixes are great, but I'd like to try it myself.
Azu, that seems to be true. However, what I meant were VSTs, soundfonts or stuff like that with the same instruments that also sound like the Generations ones, not just the same instrument, but only sounds vaguely similar.

You're gonna have to guess or ask around then. For an example, I wanted to make a Motoi Sakuraba style music, I'd using an Organ as a part of my song. A B3 Organ (or B3 Synth Organ).
Anyway, if you want, you can poke around here.

KVRAudio *Most on this site are shareware but there is some freeware VSTi in there.

I'm working on something similar, wasn't too keen on alot of Nico's stuff, although his 8-bit remixes are pretty great.
Already done a couple of tracks using the instruments included in the software I'm using, but a bit more variety would be great.
Little tip, working with the original megadrive multitracks is a huge help. :)

I personally want to know what synth Alex used to make City Escape Act 1's solo. Does anyone have any idea?

I have a violin library for Kontakt, but I'm having trouble getting it to sound realistic. Either there's something I don't know or I need a better VST...

We should get Falk to stop by and enlighten us, he seems to have a pretty good grasp on the Generations style.

Meanwhile, I attempted to make a modern remix for Rusty Ruin (Saturn). Would've turned out a lot better if I had some better instruments for drums and guitar. Anyone have any recommendations?

My personal favorites for drums are Analogue Drums, Drumasonic, and Natural Drum Kit.

As for guitars, I tend to use Shreddage (X) for heavy rhythm, and either EEG Strawberry or Ilya Efimov LP Electric for leads and mellower rhythm. My amp sim of choice is Amplitube, but I've heard good things during my time with the Guitar Rig demo, too.

Sounds like you've got the arrangement down pretty good! I could easily see this being a rough version of a track that got cut from the final game. The only issue I see with it is that there should be a short drum lead-in before the looping section begins.

I intend to include said drum lead in the final version, but I'm worrying about the main song first. Thanks for the feedback! :)

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this mix is still a bit of a work in progress, I feel like it needs some tweaking still.

Okay, it's my last trial post here, and I'd like t- No, no overly dramatic thing.

Anyway, I found a video containing the synths of Classic Green Hill (with a download!), so I'll be slaving over the ripping of the synth snare. I'll be making it into a soundfont, as well as look for vsts and soundfonts.

KatamariParadox, your remix sounds great! Sounds really authentic, other than the instruments, but that's what we're trying to tackle, right? Nice remix!

LordofSquad, your remix is really cool, too. I personally prefer the Genesis soundtrack, so I don't know how the Saturn Rusty Ruins sound, but again, other than the instruments, it feels like a real Modern Sonic remix. Keep it up!

I'll probably make a Classic remix of Splash Hill Zone, all acts like the Olympic Games remix. I'll be sharing it here after I'm done with it (and if I'm approved).

Well, this is it. Wish me luck, guys!
