Sonic Stadium spotted the game on a LinkedIn job posting: http://www.sonicstadium.org/2013/02/hardlight-working-on-sonic-dash-for-ios/ Going by the name it's probably going to be a Canabalt or Temple Run style game, maybe level-based with an endless mode if it's going to be like Sonic Jump.
Interesting. I can see some sort of a Temple Run esque game that incorporates things like the Quick-Step (Subway Surfer, anyone?) or the Boost from recent games. P.S: Stop using Windows Vista. Just stahp.
If that's what it's going to be, I'll buy it. I've wondered why it's taken them so long to create a Sonic version of that game, it would basically just be a paired down version of Secret Rings :v:
Sonic Dash (iDevice game) Made a wiki article on it, even though we don't have much info on it. It'll grow as more is known about the game anyway.
Is it possible to fix this? I know, call me a grammar Nazi all you want, but it still annoys me a bit.
You learn something new everyday. And hurray for another iOS Sonic game, I really did enjoy Sonic jump so it's nice to see the same people make a game more fitting for Sonic than just jumping.
I know Temple Run is all the rage, but there's something about it I just don't like. Canabalt, on the other hand, is really nice. So, I'd hope it's 2D instead.
Sonic 4 assets + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h4rKk6DhDA = Sonic Dash That, or: a) that Sonic DS techdemo from 2003-2004 revived b) Temple Run: Sonic Edition
I hope this isn't any indication that we wont see more Sonic Jump updates. I'd imagine that if they are putting more focus on a newer project, we will likely not see attention towards Jump... Alas, how unfortunate. I was hoping to see more from Jump. We're supposed to see more challenges, along with Shadow, Cream, Cosmic Zone, and Mechanical Zone... Oh well...
SEGA has confirmed that the game exists, and surprise: it's an endless runner: http://www.sonicstadium.org/2013/02/sega-confirms-sonic-dash-first-game-details/
I can only hope that this game sees an Android port like Sonic Jump and better yet, a release on just about every major platform like Angry Birds. It's one of those games that you would want to own multiple times; cheap enough to do so, and then you can have one copy for your PC's 1080p monitor and one copy you can take with you. Porting games written in Java takes all of 2 hours primarily for quality assurance. As fun and addictive as Sonic Jump was, I'm sure Sonic Dash will be great. Still praying for that Android version of Sonic Jump so I don't have to wait until I come home for Christmas to play...
