I still like, how Phobeus and rika saw "Sonic 4"
People was able to talk about everything whitout
leader throwing shit on their back.

Also, this starts look like its some cheap disney game.
Damn it! This is always coming to this... But thats my opinion and it won't change.

Well do something about it. I admit the stuff I posted on the artwrok section isn't exactly great but it was mainly to try and get things up and running again and to provide people with something to work with rather than starting from scratch. Constructive critisim has its place but its no good if people don't offer up an alternative.

Okay, number one, cut the elitist bullshit, people. It doesn't matter who kind of forum status someone is or how long they've been around—it does not make them "better" than someone else. Get that idea out of your head right now.

Secondly, stop fucking whining. I'm tired of seeing this from all sides, and I'm about to suspend the next person who comes in here just to have a fucking stuck-up attitude or strut in like they have something important to say that is supposedly "better" than what everyone else has said so far. Keep your smartassed comments to yourselves—nobody cares about them.

Finally, "Sonic 4" was an absolute failure in every single respect, and anybody who was ever actually following the project knew that. The only reason it ever made any progress up to this point is because it was moved to this forum, and because someone like Chimpo actually delivered some form of coherent leadership. I don't like how much of a dick he is as the rest of you, but at the end of the day, he gets shit done. And you don't. So stop whining about how horrible of a person he is and either draw some goddamn pixel art or shut the hell up. This is not a democracy.

Jesus christ.

ran out of motivation.

Matwek, I like you art actually (Because I can't do better myself)
But its unfitting. Sigh...
I wan't to see whole thing, before saying anything like that.

Rika's and Phobeus's art looked so right.
It looked like new oldschool sonic game.

Youre also whining tweaker. this is just how you see things.
Don't take it so dramatic way...
(Sorry for using your line)

Progress? Seriously? The only progress this project really has had so far was in the first two weeks on the other forums. Weather or not that progress was either good or organized can be debated. All that work has since been abandon, and all there is now is a few Sonic sprites and a very small mish mash of level art.

Chimpos so called leadership is just "Fuck you, it's going to be how I want it." While I respect him as an artist, I'm not sure how effective any leader can be with that kind of attitude. I agree that the way it was before Chimpo took over wasn't going anywhere, but it's not really going anywhere now either. Pretty much for the exact same reason it wasn't getting anywhere at the old forum when Phoebius was in charge.

I'm tired of people criticizing the old work so much, a lot of it was really decent. Phoebius wasn't a bad leader at all, just had a different approach.

I liked some of the older work too, but keep in mind that abandoning or replacing even completed work is not at all uncommon nor really a bad thing. The things that really needs to be addressed are creating a consistent art style for the level and prototyping all those neat ideas people are coming up with.

Not true at all—as Chimpo has said more than once, he is working in private to complete the base work on the Sonic sprite sheet. To my knowledge, he is under no obligation to share that with the board until he is fully comfortable with doing so. This hardly qualifies as "no progress," though.

If there's anything that Phoebius was without a doubt, it was a bad leader. Nobody—at least not I—was calling him a bad pixel artist; I admire his work quite a bit, in fact.

Chimpo said:

I'm getting my shit together after a recent shit turn of events. My actual life takes a much higher priority than making a game for you whiny kids

This is what I was talking about really, and not just Chimpo, other people have said similar things. "Actual life" was one of the big reasons the project came to a screeching stop on the old forums.

I disagree, his leadership approach could have worked if more people were willing to help contribute to the project. What he started was great, and he had got a lot of people excited. I also think that working on more than one level at a time was a better idea than what is being done now, however that is just my opinion.

I would say that for the vast majority of people this is just about school/uni. In the next month or so things will pick up again once the exam season is over.

Good news everyone!

Quit your whining kids. My life has made a miraculous turnabout and I might start full steam production on everything again this coming Friday. Get ready for a whole new wave of me insulting everything you contribute and why they're bad and why you should feel bad.

But with only two things being actually work on, there isn't much you can insult about. :words:

...Yeah, I'm going to stop bitching/whining/bitching now...
