Nice 1 mate tried it and it does work. Funny thing is it doesn't give the player Mega Lives in the Wai Proto but it DOES in the later ones! Come to think of it in Sonic 1 did you get an extra life for having 10000 points? if not that would explain it.

Sonic 1 did not give lives for points at all.

Almost. Sonic 1 rev00 doesn't give an extra life for 50,000 points regardless of region, whereas Sonic 1 rev01 does [but only in JP mode]. Both rev00 and rev01 were released in Japan, but only rev00 was released elsewhere.

Sorry about the framedrops and sound fuck ups!

Edit: just noticed it does this in BETAs 4+8 too so I presume it will do it in all the others!


Either I'm doing it wrong™ or something, but it is not possible to do the glitch in Beta 5 because the camera completely follows Sonic downward to the bottom of the zone. Doing it in this beta obviously works from what you guys have said.

Sorry to bump this but I have got this to work in BETA5... tails will still jump and mega score plus lives will still rack up even whilst the camera follows sonic on his way down....
