    Hello all,

I've been messing around with a program that rips audio, sounds and instrument samples from PS1 and PS2 games (namely PSound). I already figured out how to get the program to read disks (downloaded FrogASPI, renamed it to wnaspi32.dll and put it in the SysWOW64 directory), but now I'm noticing that I have to scan the disk; I can't pick and choose because I don't see any of the files on the disk. At least for Metal Gear Solid, I'm not finding any dialogue or music through scanning, just cutscene audio (narration and background music/SFX).
I know this is a very broad question with a most likely convoluted answer, but is there a way to be able to see the content of at least PS1 disks? I figure PS2 disks are much different, but if it's at all possible I'd like to be able to see that too.

    Thanks.

Just read the PS1 CD in whatever your OS's File Explorer equivalent is. The files are right there, on the disc, open for you to copy-paste wherever and do whatever to.

I've heard PS2 DVDs are similar, but have never tried it.

Confirmed, they are - I've read content from PS2 DVDs before.

That's the problem--nothing's there. I have no idea what could be limiting me. It could be Windows 10 (doubt it), but what I think it could be is my pretty slow ASUS DVD player. I have no idea.

Just for reference I tested the PS1 Interactive CD Sampler Pack: Volume Three (Version 3.5) in both my Late 2008 MacBookPro running El Capitan; and my also old HP Pavilion DV7 laptop which I've gently forced Windows 10 onto even though it's not officially supported.

Both computers were able to explore the files on the disc freely, and iTunes even had an album entry and track listing for all the music on the disc.

I'd think you either have a Windows issue, or a driver/hardware issue with your ASUS DVD Drive. Hard to say without seeing it physically manifesting right in front of me though.

You could get the ISO files and open them up in Virtual CloneDrive or another virtual driver software until you can get your DVD drive fixed. I use VCD for Saturn emulation myself, but it can easily be used to look at the contents of other ISO files of course.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to get the ISOs because nothing else is working. This DVD drive is the only thing I cheaped out on when I built this PC, so I'm betting it's that. Shame I have to download something I already have, but it's really not a big deal.
