A level that exists in another dimension made of only wireframes. You see the outlines of familiar things - trees, buildings, but those are set against a black background. Something that looks like Beck's E-Pro video.

That video's not available outside the USA, for reference.

I've thought about this idea for a zone before, actually - sorta Super-Paper-Mario inspired, or possibly Vib Ribbon. It's be interesting asthetically, imo.

Some kind of "Sweet Tooth Zone" would be cool to see. It starts off sort of like Mario Kart's Choco Mountain and then you would go into Eggman's Chocolate Factory of sorts, where there's all kinds of candy-based badniks and traps. Imagine grinding on rails of licorice and avoiding the sharp rock candy, while the melted chocolate acts as a sort of quicksand/mud (maybe sort of like Mazuri's dirt). There could also be a honey hive section where you have to homing attack across the buzzbombers or something. They've already done the music and toy stages, so why not?

Also, Belly Of The Beast Zone. It could be like Clanker's Cavern or something where Sonic gets gobbled up by some big robotic monster (final boss, maybe?) and he has to find his way out. Or maybe, the monster has eaten all of the chaos emeralds and you get one after each "section" in the stage to turn super for the final battle afterwards. Sort of like the End of The World stage, but not terrible.

How did this go for 5 pages without someone mentioning The Twilight Zone?

Abbatoir zone: hooks, hanging carcasses and bloody grinding equipment. Sonic must navigate the automatic meat processing plant without turning into sausages.

Biohazard Zone: Robotnik has graduated from robotics to organic/genetic engineering and has combined his two skills. Think Giger/Bydo Empire.

Or for us Americans, Resident Eggman Zone.

My ideas: Thunderstorm Zone: Think Sky Chase, but during a hurricane. Populate it with the Fireflies from MCZ, the Ion Greande things from Carnival Night Zone, and maybe some new lightning and wind themed Badniks.

Plumbing Zone: Think Pipe Maze with more half pipes, curves, and all that Sonic-y awesomeness.

Prison Zone: Remember the prison from "Stimpy's Invention"? Imagine that, but faster, more curvy, and all that awesomeness.

I'm surprised this one hasn't popped up yet

DURR HURR I AM FUCKING RETARDED Zone, where Sonic has to go around freeing Retro Sonic Fans from Robotniks wrath. One fan should repeatedly claim "I seem to have spilt my Tea."

The Human Anatomy Zone. A zone made of flesh which you enter through the mouth. You can imagine the ending.

School Zone! Construction Zone!

In all seriousness, I'd like to see a very vertically-based Zone, with the player making their way downward. Sort of like a reverse Sky Sanctuary.

Right, but gravity pulls sonic downward, which would make the level really easy, especially when you've played it once or twice and know where the spike traps are so you can just jump straight down and not hit them.

I suppose it could be doable if all the level pieces are solid only on the top (IE: you can bounce up through them but not fall from above through them), and up springs were scattered all about. Perhaps a section or two of reversed gravity?

Nacho Factory Zone, A mix between Chemical Plant and Lava reef. You go through a factory that makes superhot and spicy cheeze as you fight Robotnik that has a Sombrero, complete with a Mariachi band playing the boss music. Sour Cream is optional. Olé!

I think it's funny that the level he threw together as a joke is a lot better than I've seen since Sonic Pocket Adventure

Butter Zone.

The whole level is butter and you must get to the end before the butter melts and Sonic falls into a bottomless pit.
Sonic can reach the platforms below him by eating though the butter that is below him.
When butter drips from the platform above, it creates a hill over time so Sonic can get to high places.
