Here's a pretty minor find : If you play '06 and go to Tails's Wave Ocean, going to a point in the true beginning (behind the starting point) in his stage would make Tails say "Woah!" and the text pop up, saying "Hyaaa!"

Rush Adventure was originally released in Europe with a PEGI rating of 12+ because of "strong language" (Marine says "bugger" and "knackered").

It's since been reduced to 3+, but I don't why. SEGA might have changed some text, or they may have contested the high rating.

I see two Europe revisions for the game in no-intro's database, so I guess that happened... :/ (I also see the Korean version is bad dumped :/ )

I made a desktop background slideshow of edited title cards containing personal injokes yesterday. Then I noticed this:

The shading behind the number designating the act appears to be a stylized palm tree, perhaps suggestive of the game's island theme.
I had not picked up on this in 17 years.

you only just noticed that? :P
I always thought that it worked well for the first act but then the palm tree should have changed depending on zone.

Say, that's a really good idea. If only we knew someone who was making a hack to drastically improve on Sonic 3, maybe we could suggest it to them?

Sonic 2 (8-bit) zone cards use Sonic sprites from Sonic 1 (16-bit):

Note how the (rotated) springing animation used for Sky High Zone and the floating animation used for Scrambled Egg Zone are so faithful to the original that they lack the white stripe on the shoe.
Likewise, Tails' sprites are from Sonic 2 (16-bit), but I'll leave this exercise to the reader since I am too lazy.

o.O I thought the sprites on the Title Cards looked familiar... especially GHZ's. And I can definitely tell they used Tails' sprites from S2 (16-bit) by looking at SHZ. Awesome find! ^_^

I can't believe that anybody would not notice it right away...
I didn't remember the tail-less Tails in the Sky High title card, though.

I'm more surprised that nineko didn't point out that Sonic's sprite in the Underground zone title card is based off the death sprite (I swear that's the same face).

I didn't point it out because while the face is similar, the arm position is completely different, hence not the same sprite. The face isn't much different from the unused "shrinking" animation as well, but the arm is still wrong. So I left that one out because it's not an exact match, unlike the other ones.

I would hope this is common knowledge as it's made its way to wikipedia but since it's not listed on our faboulus wiki and I didn't know this:
