I've been trying to import sonic models so I can modify them how I want. I hit import, select the model, and nothing shows up or does anything. Am I missing something?

I dunno anything about 3DSMax, but Blender would work just as well afaik. Maybe try that.

Well I watched a video on how to do it through 3ds max, and apparently I need a model import MAXscript from Sonic GLVL, but I don't have that script, I only have generatelightmaps.ms".

Well, we're missing exactly which Sonic models you are trying to import. Which game are you trying to use in 3DS Max?

Generations. Trying to view Sonic and Shadow's models and maybe a few others. And I'm doing it for the 360 instead of PC.

So any luck? Or is model modding dead?

3DS Max and Sonic Generations are not my department. Perhaps try asking the guy you saw doing it successfully on Youtube?

The video was posted from 2015. I did the exact same thing he did. Had to do a hard search for that model importing script. As soon as I ran it, and selected the model, it took a while, and loaded the texture names and materials, but did not show the model. But since it isn't something you do, what program do you recommend?

    Try using modelfbx from LibGens.

Just to be clear, are you trying to just load the models from the game disc itself? I'd suggest just getting the models from this link since they're already customized for loading into most modeling programs.

Yeah, I got them by extracting the game files with Xbox Image Browser. And I'll check that link out.
